  1. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... MORTAL WOMBAT! (At least, I think that's a wombat.)
  2. Re: Side effect: aging If the character is only a one-shot character, is his aging actually going to be much of a drawback? He's checking out at the end of the game one way or the other.
  3. Re: Quick Question: RAW? RAI? I have also seen 'Rules As Interpreted' for RAI.
  4. Re: The cranky thread And now, the most incredibly minor one imaginable. For the first time in memory, my house has no non-frozen* cheese in it. And, of course, I'm craving cheese. *On pizzas, of course.
  5. Re: Gods with Off Switches vs. Loaded Guns. DC vs. Marvel in Character Design. Then do your own write-up and stop crapping on everybody else's.
  6. Re: Gods with Off Switches vs. Loaded Guns. DC vs. Marvel in Character Design. The 'real' Superman has no stats. He does whatever is needed, or fails at it, depending on the needs of the story the author is writing.
  7. Re: Gods with Off Switches vs. Loaded Guns. DC vs. Marvel in Character Design. Because you'd be written by a single writer who would have total narrative control over your character, his personality, and his actions. Which is absolutely nothing like how a roleplaying game works.
  8. Re: The cranky thread When your brother asks you why you and your spouse never had children, the correct response is apparently not "Dude, just look at the s**t yours put you through."
  9. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... Eh. Human babies are never as cute as most animal babies.
  10. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... I dare you to find anything cuter than this. http://cheezburger.com/41308417#comments
  11. Re: Gods with Off Switches vs. Loaded Guns. DC vs. Marvel in Character Design. Click on their name, go to their profile page. On the upper left, there'll be an option for putting them on your Ignore List.
  12. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... This poor little fella's exhausted after a hard day's work. What's he do for a living? The item in the background gives you a hint ...
  13. Re: Multiform http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julienning Essentially, a type of cut that is very long and thin (also known as 'shoestring').
  14. Re: Turakian Age: A not-evil god of the dead? And it's all for naught, as someone else in the game wants to play the 'traditional' zombiphile Necromancer. Since our characters would be fundamentally incompatible, I'm going to be the nice guy and switch character ideas.
  15. Re: What have you used? I've used the 4e FH and the two companions, and the 5e FH, Turakian Age, the Grimoires, Monsters-Minions-And-Marauders, Nobles-Knights-and-Necromancers, and Enchanted Items. My longest-running FH game used the 4e Western Shores, though I screwed with it pretty mightily by the time all was said and done (St. Louis was there ... and Mechanon).
  16. Re: Gods with Off Switches vs. Loaded Guns. DC vs. Marvel in Character Design. *shrug* If the rules don't support the genre you're trying to run, or the story you're trying to tell, then you change the rules. Hero System basic tenet. Deal with it.
  17. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread I've gone nearly a week without vomiting. I should be happier about this, but I'm still at the 'okay, when's it going to hit me ...' thoughtline.
  18. Re: Gods with Off Switches vs. Loaded Guns. DC vs. Marvel in Character Design. Just buy the fires with 'not vs. targets with LS: Heat' and you're covered.
  19. Re: What would you do if you were a mutant? Probably nothing. I'm far too cynical and down on humanity to think about putting myself out to save people who are more than likely going to be idiots, bastards, bigots, jerks, or any combination of all of the preceding.
  20. Re: Gods with Off Switches vs. Loaded Guns. DC vs. Marvel in Character Design. I'll take your word for it. I never had any desire whatsoever to see the new Batman movies.
  21. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... The Doctor finally regenerated as a ginger!
  22. Re: Gods with Off Switches vs. Loaded Guns. DC vs. Marvel in Character Design. Actually, yeah, my Batman would be bulletproof, because he's a multi-billionaire and knows some of the greatest scientists in the world, most of whom owe him favors, and wouldn't be stupid enough to run around in light kevlar body armor. He'd have some awesome space-age body armor (that still looks like his regular costume). In any case, it's less 'bulletproof' and more 'you can't hit him'. Keep in mind, this is galaxy-hopping Justice League Batman, not street-level Gotham City Batman. This is the Batman that went toe-to-toe in unarmed combat with Darkseid and held his own.
