  1. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Tonight, I'm making chili ... cheap chili. My usual recipe is ... 1 can tomato soup 1 can bean with bacon soup 1 can chili no beans Get all 3 cans as close to the same size as possible. Pour into saucepan, add 1 cup of water (optional: I frequently skip this). Add seasonings and spices as desired while heating. Tonight, though, I'm experimenting, replacing the tomato soup with a can of cheddar cheese soup. Edit: The experiment is a success. This stuff is excellent. I added a generous helping of chili powder and Old El Paso taco seasoning, and some onion powder and garlic powder for seasonings.
  2. Re: Limitations that don't make sense True. Back in my early HERO days, I operated on a somewhat loose theory with that ... instead of 'how common is this, let me price the limitation/disad appropriate', it was 'How did you price the limitation/disad? That's how common it is'. So, when someone came to me with a character who took damage 'in water' at Very Common, meaning 'every other game at the very least', well, that's how often he got wet. At least once, I decided he was sweating hard enough to short himself out.
  3. Re: hex graph Ditto. Possibly slightly smaller depending on the size of the items you use to represent characters.
  4. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... Cute little stinker, isn't he?
  5. Re: Energy Names Required Dynamo or Jumpstart Arc Stinger Brainstorm Zapgun
  6. Re: Limitations that don't make sense Not necessarily ... the character may be able to turn it on and off. However, I freely admit I can't imagine too many circumstances in which Always On would be a limitation for Resistant Protection/Armor. I'd be more likely to give the character a Phys Lim about having difficulty with some medical procedures.
  7. Re: Fantasy Race Bloat? I don't know if I'd go that far, but I definitely remove it as being important. In my games, the vast, VAST majority of people simply don't care what you look like. You're behaving in a civilized manner, not causing trouble or breaking laws? You're cool. I also really hate the racial monoculture/stereotypes, which is why I completely decouple race from culture. Like I said earlier, an elf and a dwarf from the same nation are more likely to get along and have things in common than two elves from different nations.

  10. Re: A Game Of Questions I've been in Cognito once ... why didn't anybody recognize me?
  11. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat "You have to drive your car at high-speeds across the city in time to use it to block a missile aimed at Justin Bieber."
  12. Re: Fantasy Race Bloat? And this is why I say 'sapient free-willed beings' (usually, sometimes I forget) when the discussion comes up. Your Orcs strike me as more like automata than the way I envision Orcs. Kind of like why you can't find a 'good' skeleton or zombie, since they're not really creatures, just things that happen to be moving, but when you move up to free-willed undead like vampires or liches, they can have any disposition. I'm also far more inspired by Eberron's orcs, which are the founders of druidic tradition and played a big part in repelling the Xoriat invasion with their Gatekeepers.
  13. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Every stoner in the world just flipped out.
  14. Re: Fantasy Race Bloat? The GM is also a player, just one with different responsibilities at the table.
  15. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... Aargh! Drop turtle!
  16. Re: Fantasy Race Bloat? Ditto. It's one of those things where I just don't assign a character Psych Lims I can't play. I'll never have 'Grim and Serious' on a sheet.
  17. Re: Fantasy Race Bloat? I consider that the lookout of the player. If you want to do that, do that; if not, no skin off my nose.
  18. Re: Fantasy Race Bloat? That proves my point, though. To use the D&D terms, having the Evil (or Good, or Lawful, or Chaotic) subtype has no effect whatsoever on a creature's behavior. In Hero terms, a creature designated as a demon can have any Psych Lims deemed appropriate by the GM. Yes, it would be a very rare occurance; I never stated otherwise. But it is possible; even the 3e Monster Manual stated that even creatures designated as an 'always X' alignment would have one-in-a-million exceptions.
  19. Re: Fantasy Race Bloat? Nah, I'm sick to death of the 'Tolkien' races (including humans).
