Re: The cranky thread A small one: Last night, I bowed out of a game with the regular group. I knew I wasn't going to be able to get into it, and I know it'd be better to be honest and not play than play, not have fun, and perhaps unconsciously sabotage the game, but still ... I know at least two of those present were disappointed.

It is WAY too f**king early for people to be shooting off their f**king fireworks and stinking up the air with the f**king smoke and whatever other chemicals those f**king things put out. Re: What's different about YOUR Champions Unvierse? Thinking about using a 'stripped down' version of the CU for a TMNT-style game. Changes I've thought of so far: 1. No world-class villains. No Dr. Destroyer, Gravitar, Mechanon etc, at least not in their present forms, limited villain teams. Superpowers limited in general, really. More use of 'armed normal' organizations like VIPER and tech-based villains like Armadillo. 2. Magic is exceptionally rare and almost nobody believes in it. 3. Psionics are exceptionally rare and almost nobody believes in them. 4. Aliens are exceptionally rare and almost nobody believes in them. 5. Bringing back the Card Shark gang from 4e Dark Champions just because I like them. I'm sure there's more, but I haven't thought of it yet. Edit 1: I'll probably still set the game in Millenium City, but with no Destroyer to nuke Detroit, I'll probably make it one of those fictional cities like Coast City or Central City that don't really exist, but might have an analogue.

Re: Nothing can withstand the might of... DEVASTATOR (help needed with a gestalt). The 'most correct' way to do a gestalt, IMHO, would be to have the combined form be the base character and buy all but one of the individual components as Duplicates (obviously 100% different), with Multiform for the remaining member (who would typically be the torso/head component), with limitations that the Multiform only works when Duplicated and the like.

Re: The cranky thread I don't know if I should do this, but on behalf of one of the nurses who works that the dialysis clinic ... Last night, a tornado hit the farm much of her family lives/works on. The silver lining is, the house was relatively untouched. However, the barn was trashed, the grain silos were trashed, and the puppy kennel was trashed. Silver lining part 2: Of the 80 puppies (licensed kennel and all that), only 1 is confirmed deceased; 2 are missing, 77 alive and well if scared silly. Oh, and the house has no water, electricity, or other utilities, and someone who lives there just found out she's pregnant. Remember, it can always get worse.

Re: Naming Help I'll steal something here. 'Providence'. Defined by Wikipedia as "God's activity in the world. By implication, it is also a title of God. A distinction is usually made between "general providence" which refers to God's continuous upholding the existence and natural order of the universe, and "special providence" which refers to God's extraordinary intervention in the life of people." Seems like it might be appropriate.

Re: The cranky thread I might have already ranted about this, I can't recall. If so, move on, nothing to see here. I go back under the knife next week, to have my parathyroid removed. It's overproducing at a ridunkulous rate. A bad parathyroid hormone (PTH) level is 800. I'm over 1000 on the strongest medicine they can give me. this means that someone is going to cut my neck open, which is unnerving. I'll also have to spend five days in the hospital while they figure out what medicines I'll need to be on and all that crap. On the upside, once it's out my calcium and phosphate levels will drop dramatically. The first thing I want to do when I get out of the hospital is get a bigass strawberry shake.
