  1. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I watched Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes. Excellent prosthetics, and Helena Bonham-Carter was so cuute as a Chimp!
  2. Re: A Thread for Random Videos I remember watching and enjoying the above despite its "Monty Python"-style animation
  3. Re: "Alternate" Ideas for Freemasons? Actually, I think both were. Stalin was no saint, either.

  5. Re: "Alternate" Ideas for Freemasons? Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
  6. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Actually, I just finished reading Catching Fire by Richard Wrangham I also watched Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Great fun, despite plot holes and other cheesiness. Hank Azaria is priceless as he channels Boris Karloff in his portrayal of evil Pharaoh Kahmunrah.
  7. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Naked Science: Super Diamonds Weird Weapons: the Axis I'd provide a link but even the best sites I googled didn't have much detail. Axis Weird Weapons 1/5

  10. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Episodes of Batman: the Brave and the Bold and Batmand: Beyond. As a side effect, I had many dreams last night, but in the one I remember best I was a superhero in WWII and the Earth was being invaded by aliens from space. At first I invented a superior tank to aid the Army against the aliens, then offered my services as a combatant (I don't remember what my powers were, but I was carrying a HUGE (6-7 feet long long, 3 feet diameter) multishot rocket launcher. The Army wouldn't let me help, and the last thing I remember before waking up was trying to line up a shot against one of the alien ships without getting in the way of the soldiers.
  11. Re: "Neat" Pictures Sorry, I didn't record that information when I found it. Maybe next time?
  12. Re: "Neat" Pictures More vehicle-themed pics: Landscapes:
  13. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I watched Bill Engvall's "Here's Your Sign" Awards In four words? No shortage of rednecks. Of course, I just may be a redneck, since I found this program to be highly amusing. Operation Repo on TruTV I like this show, but I always have weird dreams afterwards. (Lots of badguys trying to take my stuff.)
  14. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Operation Petticoat Junction
  15. Re: "Neat" Pictures Oddomotive Pictures Not an ad for Free Credit Report dot com. Yes, it is Japanese. How did you guess? I don't see how she (or her luggage) can fit into that thing. Looks just like Flash Gordon's car, doesn't it? One for the steampunk crowd. Just add copper electroplating. 1913 Scripps Booth Bi-Autogo
  16. Re: A Thread for Random Videos I'm agog! That's what happens when you let RuPaul produce children's programming. Amazing (if baffling) find. Repped.
  17. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Don't make excuses for them. What they did was wrong.

  19. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? The New Adventures of Batman (1977) My eyes! My brain! Superfriends looks complex, insightful, and sophisticated by comparison. If Bat-Mite isn't dead, he needs to be killed NOW! If he's already dead, dig him up and ensure there's no chance for resurrection! I could only withstand a few minures minutes (or maybe I meant manure?) of this drek before the primitive part of my brain grabbed the remote and ejected the disk. Thank you, primitive brain! I owe you one! Justice League: the New Frontier This was the antidote to the stupid and insipid fare above. Thank you, DC for finally coming to your senses!
  20. Re: Sources of inspiration for a game I did not know that, but the characters originated in the Golden Age, so I lumped them in. Sticking points for Golden Age play are the cultural norms we find repugnant today (patronising sexism and racism, antisemitism, etc.) I prefer my players to portray a more enlightened attitude to these issues than the cultural norm, and (because they're such gosh-darn good-guys) most people will deeply reconsider their opinions regarding these issues when confronted by the good examples set by the heroes. So no, my "Golden Age" isn't as tarnished as the real one was at the time.
