  3. Re: Cool Guns for your Games The following weapon is real, but their understanding of how it would have been used is kind of faulty (no percussion caps were available until well after the 15th century) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvF4yurWSc0&feature=related

  8. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Even more priceless. Now I feel bad for repping the other one.
  9. Re: "Neat" Pictures They liked 1956 so much they gave it Spy and Ninja/Samurai. Of course someone might've typoed 1958 since it's missing. By deductive reasoning I must assume then that I am a Ninja/Samurai. How disappointing.
  10. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Eddie Izzard Explains WWII:

  12. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I think I am vaguely understanding some of what you are saying (the translation software isn't helping as much as I would hope) I think everyone "gets" appreciates) the picture of raven above, but some of the commentary includes cultural references (Disney Channel Program: That's So Raven) that might not make sense if you don't know about it. Likewise a few turns of phrase in the above translations don't make sense to me, so I suppose they are idioms that don't translate well into English (without extra explanation). In the first one above, I don't know what panolis are, and "sour pickles" sounds like it might be something funny, I don't know what is actually means in this context. I don't think anyone is saying the illustration of Raven above isn't pretty good, but I think many of the comments were puns and not really about the picture itself. Personally, I think it's a pretty good picture.
  13. Re: "Neat" Pictures It's a video, but it's still pretty neat.

  15. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Dammit! And here's an unrelated one.
  16. Re: Alignment makes perfect sense What a surprise. I'm neutral good.
  17. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Never mind. Just remember you asked for it. It's spoilered in this post.
  18. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The one I refer to rides the line between Rule 34 and insanity. I don't know which thread I saw it in but you're welcome to search for it yourself.
  19. Re: Strange events...what do YOU (not your character) do? That's only useful if your sparkly energy beam is electricity, and only if the amperage is low enough that it doesn't heat the chainmail glove to its melting point (or lower than that if you're immune to the electricity but not the heat). "Take that evil-doer!" *TZORRTCH!* "Aaaah! My HANDS!!!"
  20. Re: Strange events...what do YOU (not your character) do? He's got a point. The real world suffers a deficit of handwavium. Gloves that can survive conduct an energy blast without suffering damage are simply not mass produced. It's not like there's a rack of 'em in Men's clothing at Wal-Mart next to the underwear and supersuits.
