  1. Re: A Thread for Random Videos On the contrary, I shop at Walmart. Free entertainment while I shop helps mitigate the mediocre service. If I'm in a hurry and don't mind spending a few more pennies, the service is better at Target. Link: Dog with two broken legs crawls home after tornado destroys house
  2. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I've been watching Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I was stunned to discover that it wasn't Hitler that conquered Europe in WW II, but Baron Zemo and the Red Skull. And they weren't Nazis. They were Hydra (Hail Hydra!) I suppose if they wanted to sell syndication in Europe any Nazi references and symbology would have had to be removed. Eh! It reminds me of how the really old (18661966) Captain America cartoon used to refer to "The Leader" instead of just saying "Der Fuhrer" or "Hitler". I as in Junior High before I figured out that they meant Hitler the whole time.

  5. Re: The Wonderful Story of the Flying Skeletons I like Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill. I can see it now: They Still Call Me Trinity of the Rings.
  6. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Futurama: Season 5/ Also this trailer for Killer Condom (Spoilered for subject matter and possible squick factor):
  7. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine If they had a fat template you could draw his lazy sidekick Sedentary Boy.
  8. Re: I have a dream. (and MAN was it wierd!) I still have dreams about being in tech school in the Air Force. I'm taking classes with kids young enough to be my children and wondering why I've been called back to active duty and the accommodations make "slums" look like the good life. Then I wake up.
  9. Re: A Thread for Random Videos I seem to be in a musical mood lately. Another (same title, different composer): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnuAaKiX1sg&feature=related
  10. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I found another hat I liked even better. I'm sure he doesn't want to be mistaken for a firefighting bear anyway. I'd like to adjust the colors. Right now I think he looks kinda Soviet. I'd like to make him look a bit more American without having to wrap a flag around him.
  11. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. In an on-line discussion about a $2,000 bottle of congac on display in an otherwise low-end liquor store: Them: "At some point, it becomes about status rather than taste. Same goes for any luxury consumable." Me: "Occam is calling. He wants his razor back."
  12. Re: A Thread for Random Videos I like this kind of music. Where can I find more?
  13. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Three words: "Wings of Steel". I watched Gnomio and Juliet. It was fun, but if you can wait for the price to drop, do it. Especially if you intend to go Blu-Ray. Also watched some episodes of The Flash TV series.
  14. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Re-did him in the latest version of Fabrica. With a hat!
  15. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Attached is his current incarnation in HDC format. I wish I knew how to export it as a PDF as well, but I'm still figuring out Hero Designer. @ Major Tom: I completely spaced headgear, but now that you mention it the only hope of it staying in place is a chinstrap or bolting it directly to his head.

  19. Re: Cool Guns for your Games That particular volley gun has the kick of seven guns, and should be modeled with both a high Strength minimum and a sizeable side-effect to model the recoil. I used to have a Russian-made 12-gauge shotgun that looked like this: Shooting just a few shells made my shoulder sore. I can't imagine what firing seven shots at once would feel like, but the Nock Volley Gun was well-known for bruising, dislocating or even breaking it's user's shoulder, even if they were prepared for the kick.
  20. Re: "Neat" Pictures Although I'd seen some of these in thrift stores, back in the day, I had no idea there was such a variety of designs. I could have looked at many of the ones shown and never recognized it as a toaster. Behold: The Toaster Museum Foundation
