  1. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares MOAB = Massive Ordinance Air Burst (unofficially, "Mother Of All Bombs"). -->LINK<--
  2. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? the latest episode of MLP:FIM (and some reruns). Last Friday's episode of Grimm. I still watch this show while taking mental notes. I'd like to discuss the setting more, but can't really seem to formulate questions so I'll wait for someone else to start one and just follow it until I can contribute. Last last Sunday's Once Upon a Time and the one before it. Red Ridinghood is both Badass and Scary, and the episode got kind of dark at the end, but it's still got my interest.
  3. Re: Cool Guns for your Games I want to see a version based on the two-barreled WWII antiaircraft guns that fired from alternating barrels. Alas, I can't remember what they're called, but the nickname was "pom-pom guns" if I'm correct. ETA: In U.S. Navy, the guns I'm yalking abour were called "Chicago pianos", a play on the slang term for the Thompson SMG; "Chicago violins".
  4. Re: "Neat" Pictures Not so much as he used to be, but Top Gear (the REAL one) only comes on BBC America, and not everyone can afford more than basic cable right now. I NEED my television, so I'm willing to cut costs elsewhere.
  5. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares I am not familiar with Rifts, and don't get what the Acronym stands for. A little help?
  6. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore That Steak & Egg Taco looks yummy! *DROOL!* I think it's time for me to make a sandwich.
  7. Re: Creepy Pics. I think they're characters from Fraggle Rock.
  8. Re: A Thread for Random Videos More Celtic lore, spoilered because this is the only way it'll let me insert more than one vid in a post.:
  9. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Saint Paddy's day is coming up. Here's something in keeping with the season:
  10. Re: "Neat" Pictures You'll never get a trustworthy answer that isn't TMI, so why would you ask? Every website I've gone to includes a lot of discussion about how to handle "the question"*. I am given to understand that although one can go commando, that it was traditionally only done in combat. I don't know the reason, but something like that is why it's called "going regimental". Maybe they just wanted to be sure of a clean pair to be buried in? In any case, the British websites all tend to agree that going regimental is bad form unless you are actually in one of the regiments that wear kilts. It's one of those things people never consider, that asking a perfect stranger if they're wearing underwear might just possibly be a bit familiar? Especially before introductions have been exchanged?!? I just chalk it up to a burning desire to know if it's really true. The only answer I can give you that is true in every instance is "sometimes" * My favorite answer is "The usual".
  11. Re: Cool Guns for your Games The above weapon's development was entirely funded by ammunition manufacturers in the hopes it would boost sales.
  12. Re: The cranky thread While I understand your position, and while this forum might be a good place to gripe about it, keep in mind, this is still the internet. To a lot of folks, "You kids don't know how to speak proper English" is just a set-up for a joke that challenges them to find a punch-line that works. I hope the people whose copy you edit learn the difference between what they think they're writing and what they actually wrote. Have some chillout rep.
  13. Re: "Neat" Pictures Some say that although he's undead, he's still quite the raconteur. Some say that he only eats babies' brains during months with an "R" in them. I'm not sure, but I think the guy in the helmet is called: "Zombie Stig". [/obscure reference]
  14. Re: Jokes You do know you now have a civic responsibility to cross-post this in the Genre Crossovers thread, don't you? Repped when possible. Try being mediocre for a while so we can catch up, huh?

  16. Re: The cranky thread English evolves. Sometimes rapidly. You can correct everyone else's usage once it becomes a dead language, like Latin or French.
  17. Re: "Neat" Pictures It depends upon whether you're "going regimental" or not. Despite rumors to the contrary, it's perfectly okay to wear undergarments with one's kilt. Only in certain military cases where the uniform is specified is underwear proscribed. I don't know why this is, but there you have it. Proper wear of the kilt is serious business for some folks, almost a religion.
