  1. My favorite preview of the upcoming Colorado Avalanche season: "Colorado will be 20 points better than last season and still not sniff the playoffs." Which makes sense, since the Avs were 22 points (as I recall) worse than the second worst team in the NHL last season.
  2. We saw Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 3-D. If the objective of the film was to make viewers seasick, they succeeded with Lady P and me.
  3. Agreed. If I want to watch something in 3-D, I'll go to a play. (Or the opera.)
  4. Lobster? I never even flounder! Low Humor: Puns vs. Leper jokes
  5. I've heard it said that football combines the two worst aspects of American life: Violence and committee meetings.
  6. Lyta Ford is underrated. Nevertheless, Joan Jett wins. Because Death Tribble skipped it earlier - All About That Base: Sodium hydroxide vs. Ammonia
  7. Kaeto is world-renowned for his tequila mole chicken.
  8. In high school circles, there's some controversy about soccer (and other sports) being played on artificial surfaces that rely on chopped-up pieces of old tires for backfill. I suppose I'm a Luddite in this respect: I think football (either kind), as well as baseball, cricket, rugby, and all the rest, should be played outdoors on grass. (I also think the Designated Hitter and aluminum bats are tools of the Devil, but that's another subject.)
  9. Earthquakes, hurricanes, mass shootings...2017 sucks. Can we go back to just losing celebrities?
  10. Bazza is currently writing a treatise analyzing the moral justification for running a Three-card Monte table aimed at Social Science students, based on the writings of Socrates, Cicero, and Demokritos.
  11. Hydrofluoric acid, please. I don't want to be within two clicks of the other stuff if I can help it. All About That Base: Sodium hydroxide vs. Ammonia
  12. It's adorable that you think students have hearts. Cancer passes his time between classes by running a Three-card Monte table in the student union. The Social Science students still haven't figured out how he keeps winning.
  13. Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and Patty Jenkins for Wonder Woman. Obviously.
  14. Death Tribble has the heart of a lion. Authorities in Nairobi have issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of poaching.
  15. A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Utah courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being physically beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, citing child custody law and statute requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they had also beaten him on numerous occasions. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the Utah Division of Child Welfare, the judge granted temporary custody to the BYU football team, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.
  16. How is it that I've never done this yet? Oh well, better late.... How did you come up with your 'handle' (forum name)? One of my Champions characters was exiled from a secretive mystical society; he used his talents (enhanced by a 'radiation accident' that also gave him super-strength) and became a superhero. His code name was Pariah. Also, it's a pretty good description of my life in high school--not quite "leper-outcast-unclean", but pretty close. What was the first tabletop RPG you Played? Like so many others, Dungeons and Dragons. That would've been Christmas of 1981, or thereabouts. What was the first tabletop RPG you GMed? Probably also D&D, though not more than once or twice. The first time I GMed on a long-term basis was when I thought my hometown gaming group Champions, the summer after my first year of college. What are you currently Playing/GMing? Nothing. My gaming group is inconveniently far away, and I have class on the night they play. When did you start to play Hero? Winter of 1986-7. Third edition.
