  1. Re: Answers & Questions Q: Did you know he holds the world record on Tetris? A: Nobody understands me, thankfully.
  2. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Ammonia Avenue - The Alan Parsons Project.
  3. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... Crimson Kings is excellent. Modernised pulp, complete with a pulp backstory and plot, but with a decidedly modern viewpoint. Fun and exciting, but with tech that isn't quite as laughable and real charcterization (like we'd expect less from Stirling).
  4. Re: Answers & Questions Q: What news makes you feel good? A: No, it means I'm not going to help you out of this pit.
  5. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Get 9 - Yoko Kanno
  6. Re: Answers & Questions Q: I understnd you're weaning yourself off of carbohydrates. What's for dinner? A: He is a human singularity.
  7. Re: Answers & Questions Q: Semi-human brain, laser cannon, combat chassis...off switch? A: It's a Bender Blender.
  8. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? What Goes Up - The Alan Parsons Project, off The Essential Alan Parsons Project.
  9. Re: Martian Airplanes? I know that most of the designs NASA has looked at have incorporated or been primarily LTA models. What makes them viable is the high percentage of Carbon Dioxide in Mars' atmosphere - it's a quite heavy gas, so you get more lift to offset the low pressure.

  11. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? The Voice - The Alan Parsons Project.
  12. Re: Martian Airplanes? I have serious doubts that WIGE would work at all; I don't think you could build up a sufficient pressure wave to be able to surf it. Magnetic lift couldn't work at all - Mars has no magnetic field. I sem to recall a piece on this from Scientific American a while back, about needing roughly three times the wingspread to gain equivalent lift, as though the gravity is about one third of Earth's, the air pressure is even less.
  13. Re: Answers & Questions Q: Their military consists of specialist Marines and Robot Spaceplanes? A: The Apocalypse needs it's mascot.
  14. Re: Answers & Questions Q: How to best describe The Starlost... A: Heron Gobbledocker wants YOU!
  15. Re: Star Frontiers: Sand Shark I think I'd go with the second (larger) sense. It seems to better cover the issue and doesn't limit the creature to a single target.
  16. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? I'd rep Nolgroth but I can't. Currently: Pride (In the Name of Love) - U2
  17. Re: Answers & Questions Q: What di you mean by "sub", Dom? A: Let me build a bridge, for I cannot fill the chasm.
  18. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Fortress Around Your Heart - Sting, from The Dream of the Blue Turtles.

    Super Psychos

Re: Super Psychos The Squad - a replicator who developed Multiple Personality Disorder. Each of his personalities has their own body, and will only re-merge once it has been convinced it is, in fact, a piece of his broken psyche and not the core element - an effort complicated by the fact that every splinter looks identical to every other, some try to hide their differences, and every now and then the Core for splits off another splinter...
  25. Re: Answers & Questions Q: I've just been fired, my house has burned doown and my dog died. A: My house died and my dog burned down.
