  1. Re: The team that everyone forgot. Just a Trio from me. El Aguila – Gotta give props to the mutant who thinks of a way of using his powers without anyone realizing he has any. And I don’t care if he was “depowered” in New Avengers #18 (Crying Shame). Bloodstone – Superstrong, Immortal Monster Hunter from the Hyborian Age, with extra-sensory powers. Korvac – A Cyborg wielder of the Power Cosmic™, he had a few minor problems in his ultimate form. And hey, according to Moondragon, he wasn’t evil (by her reckoning). Hmm. Two of them are dead, and the other has has the superhuman equivalent of a neutering. *shrug* EDIT: Sundog just pointed out that it's the JLA all over again. El Aguila and Bloodstone are just there to kick all the Kryptonite out of the room. Only, does Korvac HAVE a Kryptonite equivalent. Other than self-doubt.

I didn't want to post the answer because I hadn't come up with a new one myself. But now I have! MWAHAHAHAHA! Ironspy - A metalic brick who can also become all but invisible. Karma Slave - A young woman whose only ability seems to be to reflect any effect directly back upon it's source. Paradox - A mutant with the abilty to completely alter the fabric of reality within his immediate area. Thunder - A flying brick and widow, she was once forced to be a hero by court order, only to turn to a life of crime alongside her husband lightning. After his unpublished death in Detroit, 10 years ago, she went into hiding. Now she has returned, seeking to redeem her and her husband and leave a legacy they can both be proud of. (I always had a soft spot for those two.) This one should be relatively easy.

  8. Re: Vampires in Supers Setting Sorry to come in a little off the current vein, but I've been thinking. One of the "classic" vampire weaknesses requires a little thought. Their problems with sunlight. When using them in champions, it seems to be a Susceptability, and a pretty nasty one at that, but what are they susceptable to exactly. Is it natural sunlight? Can they hide under a blanket? Or is like they are in marvel, with just about any concentrated source of UV being enough? It just seems to me that one needs to be consistent in this, and be very careful about how bad it is. In a superpowered environment, can a vampire avoid this by donning a suit of powered armour? Or worse, wear a force-field belt that specifically filters out UV (Opaque to UV in game terms)? Sorry about the lack of segue, but this seemed the best place to drop the question.

  13. Or more accurately, what does your character do to maintain their secret ID, assuming they have one. Arbiter. He's a Telepathic Superhero who actually has both a Public ID (Merrick Bahan) and a Secret ID (Arbiter). As Merrick Bahan, he's a well known Telepathic Mutant and Criminal Psychologist who is the author of several books and has a publicly available biography. But he also venture's forth as Arbiter, a robed figure whose telepathic abilities have brought full on superbrawls to a complete stand still. One of the reasons why this actually works is that Merrick is well known for having an obsession with Arbiter, which explains why he always seems to be in the same city as Arbiter. It helps that he possesses psionic invisibility and is a psychomorph (Shapeshift for Mental Group). Even other telepaths (Menton included) would have to be very lucky to probe deep enough into his mind to find that the two are the same individual. Leatherback. As he was attending college on a football scholarship, he had to hide the fact that he could turn into an 8ft tall Grond with only 2 arms (including a cellular shapeshift). Not because his friends and loved ones might be endangered, but because his scholarship would be endangered, due to either the "must not engage in activities that would bring disrepute upon the image of the University of Nebraska, be it the Kingdom City campus or the College as a whole, or he could simply be kicked off of the team because there was no way of knowing for certain how much of Tommy's athletic ability came from his mystical avatarism. He primarily achieved this by always retreating to the river than ran through the middle of the city, and then entered to sewer network from there. Everyone just assumed that Leatherback lived in the sewers. Platinum. A former silver avenger who retained most of his abilities. (As a side note, this also establishes for his campaign that as small a percentage of people that can receive the full benefits of the Cyberlene treatments, an equally small percentage find it’s effects to be permanent.) His Secret ID was maintained largely by a very useful gadget that he had. Costume Change Ring – Shapeshift (Sight and Touch Groups), Instant Change; Cost END only to change (+¼); IIF: Ring (-¼), 4 Charges (-2). Real Cost 6 points. Professor Grey. With the ability to summon a set of robes for when he ventures out for crime fighting, this Diabolist has little to fear about his secret being discovered, except the unmasking that any other masked hero fears, i.e. Knocked unconscious and then having his mask removed. He’s actually more worried about someone discovering that Prof. Whittanger is a mutant (he has a prehensile tail that can stretch up to 2m in length), as that might drive enough students away from his lectures that he might lose his tenure. The Specter was an old hand at the “Disappearing Stranger” technique, and thus was difficult to track.

  19. Re: The thing's I've learned playing a Brick... Great Mechanic...What would it look like (SFX?) How did I miss this? The mechanic for the Character that has it in the game I GM, it's because he's 4m tall, and has learned such maneuvers as Axe-kicks, Sweeping Back-fist and such like.

I liked them so much, that back in 4E a managed to create a character with both of their powers called Stormfront. Mum and Dad were really embarassing. I suppose I would have to change his name for 5ER.

It's not just to reflect that you maintain an identity seperate from your superheroic persona, but that in doing so, you could have conflicts where you have an obligation to live up to, but are also needed to stop the latest Monstrous Rex that has gone rampaging throug downtown in the middle of rush hour. Peter Parker had a horrible reputation as being unreliable (highlighted in the second movie) because of how his activities as Spiderman conflicted with his personal and professional life. (Marvel Superheroes had a karma/experience system that often meant that you didn't stop the bank robbery, because your grandfather's funeral was in less than 20 minutes on the opposite side of town and that the later was worth more in karma). Another reason behind Secret IDs is that most characters nee a place to live and food to eat. And they need to pay for it somehow.

I got a great tactic for the next time we fight the Superskrull!" "You want me to do what, you flame-brained idiot?" Sounds of much carnage ensues. :rofl::rofl:
