  1. If you kept the older installation package, you could easily just create a pair of folders...one for the older, one for the newer. Put a copy of the char sheet in both; load em up and you can see any cost changes. Not like HD is large or has an excessive memory footprint. One thing I have seen is, a character load does a complete recalculation. Sometimes this catches gotchas...a Linked where the secondary power is now more expensive than the primary it's linked to, doesn't always reflect that during editing, but can be caught on a reload. Look over your Powers and see if something looks off. (And Equipment if you're using that tab.) Oh, another possibility...if you created a new folder, perhaps there's something in your preferences or campaign rules.
  2. For that matter, pay phones generally. There's some left but few and far between. Susan B. Anthonys too. The Sacagawea golden dollars weren't a lot better. I never even realized there was a series of Presidential dollars...
  3. And if you throw in the towel before May, what message does that send to your current players, and to every player in the league during free agency? The writer's trolling. And just bopping around MLB.com, ran across this story: https://www.mlb.com/news/featured/the-story-of-the-los-angeles-browns-changed-baseball-forever What a difference a couple days can make... Still very likely the Dodgers and Giants would've left New York, but obviously the Dodgers weren't gonna end up in LA, and that might've convinced the Giants to go elsewhere too.
  4. Oh, that's fine. It's when the purple flamingos join in that you have an issue...
  5. Beau is noting the cop had a strobe going, and is pointing out it was NOT used properly. And how it was misused may well contribute to the sequence we saw that led to a dead kid. I didn't really note it before, but if you do watch the video, there's clearly a strobe light active. Here's a story about them: https://www.policemag.com/340344/how-to-use-a-strobing-flashlight A huge issue that arises for me, noting the strobe, is that I suspect the ability to discern and identify small details clearly looks to be somewhat compromised. That makes me think the cop wasn't able to effectively read the situation.
  6. And today, by WorldOMeter's count, world deaths passed the 3 million mark. We all expect it's a fair bit higher, but still, a recognized count of 3 million deaths is sobering enough.
  7. Philadelphia Soul (Arena League, a very entertaining diversion while it lasted)
  8. Nebraska Bugeaters What, they changed the name but kept the programs? Eek. The football team stopped playing when they changed conferences. Or at least acted that way....... OK, OK. New Orleans Jazz.
  9. The problem with baseball in 2021... Braves just beat the Cubs, 5-2. 15 hits total. No errors. Time of game: 4 hours, 8 minutes. 4 hit by pitch. 14 walks. 18 strikeouts. Can't quickly find the total number of pitches, but had to be a lot. And nothing happening on SO many of em... Had it on but didn't pay a lot of attention. Just as well...
  10. They tried a Mr. Potato Head revival not *too* long ago, IIRC. Cabbage Patch Kids is still selling; so are Barbie and Ken. CPK and Beanie Babies...both were so incredibly BLAZING hot for a while, and both had artificial collectibility, so if they're just ordinary toys...we don't really think about em. And, hey, most of us are at least physically into adulthood, so unless you're watching cartoons with your kids, grand-kids, or great-great-great grandkids (in Old Man's case) we probably don't get exposed to any marketing....
  11. Problem is, to get even the bigger ones on, they'd be too small to be readable.
  12. Good one here. Kentucky Colonels of the old ABA.
  13. Besides, the reason why the basketball team dropped it are even more relevant now. DCFC is pretty nice, but "FC" is too strongly associated with soccer so I don't see that. Monarchs and Royals...not good ideas for DC in particular, but I think Presidents also fits into that group. And Senators has been done. The Washington Congress doesn't sound bad but it's too confusing. (And let's not even talk about the negative comparisons if the team doesn't win, or has no offense.) I gotta agree, not many do anything for me. If that's the full list, I'd probably go with Brigade...but only if they also changed team colors.
  14. Nostalgia never goes out of style. They're probably targeting grandparents to give to their grandkids...
  15. Good luck. We control the horizontal. We control the vertical. I wish that was true. Full service stations were fairly common up until the '73 gas crisis tho, actually. I knew about Oregon...but New Jersey has a similar law too. And on Oregon... https://www.oregon.gov/osp/programs/sfm/Pages/Self-Service-Rules-Change-FAQs.aspx and the map that shows where it's prohibited still...which includes Portland, Eugene, and Salem, the 3 largest cities https://geo.maps.arcgis.com/apps/View/index.html?appid=fe6b92d4da52481483898a871928588c In Eastern Oregon, apparently, attendants aren't required at night because in those rural areas, finding attendants is a lot harder for those hours. Good reason to have an EV if you live in Portland, eh?
  16. Swallowtail coats. Recognizing that the tux was actually *semi* formal. Unless you hang out with the thoroughbred crowd, the morning suit. For most...the pocket watch. Only most...cuz I have 2. They were hugely important before automated signals took over. Since there were no signals, train timetables were necessary to keep trains separated. Poor timekeeping was a factor in crashes that cost lives. So the railroad standard was developed. Good railroad pocket watches were made into the 1950's, and many are still available today. It's a niche market, but it is out there. Heck...with the exception of parts of the Eastern Seaboard, passenger trains are almost non-existent and I suspect, outside the Eastern Seaboard, that people who've taken an inter-city passenger train would be a VERY TINY minority. And while I'm thinking about it...chronometry competitions. These were a Very Big Deal, with serious bragging rights on the line; many of the major brands had dedicated teams work to perfect the accuracy and stability of watches sent to these events, run by astronomies in a few different countries. Because, again, this is before other methods were developed. Ships at sea clearly had a critical need for accurate navigation, and relied on purpose-built marine chronometers that were second only to the ship itself in cost. The accuracy competitions dated back to the mid 1800's, and continued until 1967...when Seiko quartz watches *annihilated* the Geneva trials with their accuracy. But before then, watch advertising used these results quite a bit.
  17. OK, I'll admit to cheating on this one big time. https://www.oldfootballshirts.com/en/teams/x/ Xanthi FC, Greek soccer League 2 (brings back memories...Xanthi is also the eponymous name of an exotic tobacco generally in the "Turkish" class. Quite interesting, altho only a few blends I can recall listed it...)
  18. There will be riots. It's...pretty damn awful Not gory or anything at all...just horrifying how it went down. There will be riots. And while I won't say they're justified, I will say: I understand why.
  19. But is it the cop panicking? Or is it the cop's response simply in line with the training he's gotten? One of the themes last summer is the latter. I think a serious study along these lines could be interesting, because if panic really is an issue, then that leads to a separate set of questions, and a different mode of attack to reduce the problem.
