Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
I'm not sure that there were that many. Quite a few that you got crippled in the creation, but then were supposed to play the character.
Re: Your PCs might be Underpowered if...
Well, the character was Scales, a brick. I wrote the character up after noticing some of the high OCVs being thrown and decided that an 8 Dex with OCV levels and lots of defense was more practical. Worked pretty well. And for the first 900 XP, he was missed less than 20 times...
Re: The Death Of Vinnie The Viceroy
"too gruesome" Perhaps not torture, but probably bodies taken apart.
Somehow, I think going after The Shadow Lord on legality grounds, isn't really going to work anyway.
Of the games I was in, as written, the Protectors from Sam Bell's campaign, have a decent chance at him.
Re: Who homages the Watchmen or those the Watchmen homaged?
edit: naw, I'm just not in the right frame of mind to answer that.
All in all, I'd rather hear of nifty Watchmen homages.
A friend of mine did a nice Rorschach homage with Curu. He wasn't entirely based off of the Rorschach model, but had a similar dress style. I wonder if I have his origin style on disk anywhere.
Re: Campaigns bases off alternate sources.
I pull from everything and put it in a blender.
Saberhagen, Turtledove, and other scifi and fantasy, CU (all versions), Marvel, DC, Eclipse, First, name it and I've ripped something off if I've read it.
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
While I did very well in my intro Astronomy course at UCSC, that question is boggling. I claim since it's been 25+ years since my course, that must be why. yea, that's it.
Re: Evaluation on an ability: Bounce Back
I prefer the hand wave "finished off" for cases like that. There are exceptions of course.
I had a PC with a similar ability, though it was a modified Regen (4th edition), 10 points and she'd regen a stun pip each round. She'd wake up faster, but not significantly. I think in the 2 year campaign she was in, it made a difference twice.
