Re: Alternate Timeline Campaign
Marconi was Italian. Tesla wasn't born in the US, but did come over in 1894.
Other than that nitpick, sounds great.
WWI maybe different, but many of the roots to that conflict were from earlier times. And having the US enter the stage earlier may not make a huge difference, though maybe the isolationists wouldn't be as prevalent. That could cause The Philippines and Cuba to wind up becoming actual territories. Though the guerrillas in The Philippines would still be an issue.

On, and if you click on it, you get taken to the flickr site, there's a couple other images from that location as well.
Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore
I will have to agree that the French Laundry was awesome. Went there in 1996, don't know if it still is.
Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
Yep. The best way for GMs to encourage less beating on unconscious villains, is don't have them get back up.
Re: Musings on Random Musings
My wife just made fresh scones. A couple of those with fresh french pressed coffee and I'm having a very nice afternoon.
(Hey, no Mayo mentioned at least)
Re: Musings on Random Musings
I'm not a fan of mayo and used to really dislike it, but found when used sparingly, it can work.
I totally understand your position though.
Re: The Last Word
There's not much margin. About 102 is comfortable to laze around indefinitely, much warmer and you wind up sitting at the edge a lot. One pool was running at 110 for a bit, but that's too hot for anything more than short dips.
The water actually comes out of the ground at 180-190 and is used to heat the entire place, but they cool it off for the pools with river water. It's very scenic and tranquil.
I just uploaded a set to flickr though it doesn't show much of the scenery: Road Trip Sep 2010
