Re: The Last Word I was gone for a week and was exhausted when I got home yesterday. I dropped all the luggage and some other stuff in the kitchen and living room. In one of the boxes on the kitchen table was a bag of lady fingers that my wife got for making Tiramisu. One of the cats, I suspect Elizabeth opened the bag and this morning I had at least a dozen lady fingers scattered around the house.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings Taking Vacation starting today. I might still hit overtime since I'll be working Saturday. And since if I don't get under two weeks of built up PTO, I need to take at least a week off before the end of the year. Must figure out somewhere to go by December.

Re: The Last Word We usually don't have this happen just because a majority of our kittens come from a feral source, but we had the mom of some of the kittens along on this trip. She was OK with her kittens in the tower next to her, but she kept hissing at the ones on the other side. Much better than the mom I had out that hissed at her own kids.

Re: The Last Word At the adoption event, one of the sets of kittens had a runt. Lori also would suckle on the other kittens which can cause some problems, so at first we tried a bitter application. No luck with that. (And the bitter stuff really tasted horrible, I got scratched later and made the mistake of using my tongue to clean the blood off my hand. ) We moved her to a couple different spots until we put her in with a big orange kitten. Caramello treated he like a little sister, cleaning her up a bit. Whenever she would try suckling, he'd just push her off, so it worked real well. And then both of them got adopted.

Re: Musings on Random Musings Hope she gets better hermit. And on connectivity, I went through that last year with my mom. Hooked up DSL while I was there, but while I was getting that done, I checked up on things via a coffee shop that had wireless. Not really an option unless you have a laptop, but just throwing it out there.
