  1. Re: Musings on Random Musings Yeah, and my brain does weird things to insomnia. That's how you get it to leave your brain alone.
  2. Re: Martial Arts iiinnn ssspppaaaccceee!!! Which style is flexible enough? I forgot to add that pressure point/nerve/tendon strikes would also figure heavily into 0G combat. Don't see a lot of that in real life*, Krav Maga and Eagle Claw kung fu are the only styles I can think of that might devote any time to the subject. *Because killing attacks are usually illegal, I imagine.
  3. Re: Martial Arts iiinnn ssspppaaaccceee!!! Which style is flexible enough? Wing Chun and Muay Thai for strikes and grab/strikes that work at close range and don't necessarily need a lot of footwork. Jiujitsu and shootfighting for chokes and locks that can work without contact with the ground. More cinematically, maybe capoeira and TKD for flashy circular kicks that might somehow take advantage of a spinning environment.
  4. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. The South Park rochambeaux, I think.
  5. Re: I love me some xenomorphs! Then what the hell are you doing posting on the Hero Games forums?
  6. Re: I love me some xenomorphs! Yes, but then you would have gone from having a cast of relative nobodies to having a cast of Raquel Welch and a bunch of victims. This is why horror movies rarely cast A-list stars. (Well, one reason anyway. The other reason is that A-list stars are frightfully expensive and horror films generally don't have that kind of budget. Alien had SFX to pay for as well.)
  7. Re: Musings on Random Musings You're Obama? Don't you have better things to do than surf the NGD forum, you socialist dog?
  8. Re: Possibilities! So instead of Thread Necromancy, we get Big Lifters! Discuss! SpaceX looks to be coming along on schedule too, so that's another medium lift platform to help bridge the gap.
  9. Re: The cranky thread And if you don't you can come here and complain about it which is also fun!
  10. Re: Valuable info for your Star Hero Campaign! I was so impressed by the centrifuge that I didn't even care about the lamp any more.
  11. Re: Possibilities! So instead of Thread Necromancy, we get Big Lifters! Discuss! It sounds like the off-the-shelf-LEO stuff would be used for ISS support and other LEO activities, while a Mars heavy lift capability would be designed from a clean sheet of paper. But IANARS.
  12. Re: Battleground: Fantasy Warfare (help wanted)
  13. Re: Battleground: Fantasy Warfare (help wanted) Probably the one thing I would suggest is spreading the races across the map. Warhammer puts one race here and another race there, which actually limits the possible interactions geographically and makes little sense as well. There's no reason there can't be several "base" areas for each race, especially as civilizations ebb, flow, and migrate across the landscape. There might also be hotly contested geographical regions similar to the Balkans, central Asia, or Southeast Asia--areas that seem to always be battlegrounds, with occasional breaks of peace. (Not that there can't be wars in other areas, of course.)
  14. Re: Shadowcats Vehicular Insanity Shop: A-10C Warthog That gun can fire more than one type of ammunition. It's usually loaded with HE in Afghanistan, not the depleted uranium stuff. I'd probably still give it AP though, and give the uranium multiples of AP and penetrating.
  15. Re: Musings on Random Musings I can't stand it i know you planned it But i'm gonna set it straight, this watergate I can't stand rockin' when i'm in here Because your crystal ball ain't so crystal clear So while you sit back and wonder why I got this fuckin' thorn in my sideo H my, it's a mirage I'm tellin' y'all it's sabotage So listen up 'cause you can't say nothin' You'll shut me down with a push of your button? 16. Re: Shadowcats Vehicular Insanity Shop: A-10C Warthog I'm not sure 5d6 is the right amount of damage for the GAU-8. That's a full die more than mortar damage, is it not? It also seems as though it deserves AP or Explosion depending on the ammo load.
  17. Re: I love me some xenomorphs! We have seven canisters of CN20. I say we roll them in there and nerve gas the whole f__king nest.
  18. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it...
  19. Re: Musings on Random Musings Well, it's perfectly understandable. A hard night of smoking, drinking, and partying leaves all kinds of stains, odors, and germs on your clothes that you will want to get rid of without anyone noticing. What?
  20. Re: Orion Drive space battleship Red Squad! Red Squad!
  21. Re: Gladiators vs Werewolves No, the Uwe Boll movies I've seen haven't had many grossly deformed actors.
  22. Re: Science Fiction League of Extraordinary Gentlemen I can't imagine why people might be annoyed by the idea of a teenager piloting a multibillion dollar space battleship. Or an untrained eight-year-old flying a starfighter unscathed through an epic space battle to singlehandedly blow up a nigh invulnerable multitrillion dollar space dreadnought. It could happen!
