  1. So Bazza looks like this? I thought he looked like this. I suppose it's not all that different.
  2. Look, do you want me to repost the one where Calvin gets put on ritalin? Or the xkcd one about the Mars rover?
  3. I said, " .- .-. . / -.-- --- ..- / - .-. -.-- .. -. --. / - --- / -.. .- ... .... / -- -.-- / .... --- .--. . / --- ..-. / .--. ..- -. ... / .. -. / -- --- .-. ... . / -.-. --- -.. . ..--.. ?"

  5. Kind of wish the department here would adopt those policies.
  6. Depends, are you going to talk about boluses and whatnot?
  7. Those of us who aren't in medical skool?
  8. I kind of thought the Hellfire Imperium was the Roman analogue, and Astrolabes and Alchemy the Greek. Opinions?
  9. Wow, they included her name, age, and photo. Hope she never has to apply for a job. Anywhere. Ever.
  10. Sure it does. It was rather one-sided but had huge strategic and historic ramifications.
  11. I used to get docked 20% of my grade for lab reports if I got the wrong answer, so I very quickly learned to compensate for craptastic lab equipment by falsifying my results. So I don't understand why it's so hard for them to include fake data in their reports.
  12. And it occurs to me that "Hills for the Hillfolk" should be "Highlands for the Highlanders". Meanwhile I'm inspired to write up a "Clockwork Tsar". That seems both original and cool.
  13. Yes. Uncountable hordes of Dark Elves stalking the vast steppes on driderback, loosing envenomed arrows and unspeakable sorceries on all who would oppose their relentless advance. While wearing furry hats.
  14. "Will to Live" by Les Stroud, perhaps better known as "Survivorman" on the Discovery Channel. Les recounts several instances of people stuck in survival situations, including himself, and comments on what they did or could have done better during their ordeal. These include the Andes plane crash survivors who had to resort to cannibalism to survive; Chris McCandless, who sought to live on his own in the Alaskan wilderness; the Robertson family who were adrift at sea for 38 days; and others. The main takeaways from the book are the importance of recognizing when you're in a survival situation, constantly working proactively to better one's situation in those circumstances, and above all maintaining a determination to survive. A pretty gripping read that does what it says on the jacket, but seems slightly incomplete, as though it needs to be supplemented with some more complete straightforward survival advice.
  15. And enough Asia to support kung fu and ninjas. They left out the Mongols though. And it's not clear where the Drow should come from.
  16. Seems fairly obvious that he's had a lift or two.
  17. I'm... assuming that's not related to my decapitation question. Hope she's going to be all right. Western medicine never ceases to amaze, just as long as there aren't too many other factors working against her.
  18. A "safety", you mean? Underbarrel shotguns are almost always used for breaching as opposed to combat, so the lack of a grip shouldn't be a problem. If anything I'd be worried about the trigger being way up front by the end of the barrel where your hand might pick up splinters and shrapnel and whatnot. I like to keep my hands away from the business end of projectile weapons, especially after the one incident.
