2. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Here's Bootlegger, a teen super-speedster from Confederate World: In addition to his ability to run at super-speed, he also possesses the ability to know where everything in his vicinity is, no matter how fast he may be moving at the time. This has enabled him to develop a maneuver he calls the "Bootleg- ger Reverse", which he uses against enemy speedsters (preferably an annoying Yankee speedster, whenever possible). The first part of the maneuver involves him attempting to sucker an enemy speedster into chasing him -- while he him- self is running backwards. At the same time as he's running backwards, Bootlegger keeps up a steady line of insults and taunts directed at his pursuer; he does this to make his enemy angry enough to become careless and focus his attention upon catching Bootleg- ger. Once Bootlegger sees that his pursuer has stopped paying attention to his surroundings, he leads him towards a wall or other solid object; at precisely the right moment, he suddenly stops and runs in the opposite direction. When per- fectly executed, the end result of the "Bootlegger Reverse" is an enemy speed- ster making a very rapid -- and up-close and very painful -- acquaintance with a solid wall. Of course, this only works if the other speedster doesn't have the super-speed ability to phase through the wall... Major Tom 2009

6. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Here's a new threat for the Cosmic Centurions and their allies to deal with, courtesy of Lord Dark Matter and Techamachus -- the Terror Machine: The description of this techno-nightmare can be found on the Cosmic Centurions thread. 8. Re: Cosmic Centurions Here's the latest weapon to come from the mind of Techamachus -- the Terror Machine: This mechanized nightmare is huge -- over 100 feet tall -- and is heavily-armed and armored. Its primary anti-personnel weapons are the twin gatling-type laser cannons which are mounted on the sides at "waist" level, and can cover a ninety- degree field of fire on either side of the Terror Machine. As for its heavy weapon- ry, the Terror Machine carries two plasma-bolt projectors, one in each palm of its hands. The ability of the upper body to turn in a complete circle means that these weapons not only have a 360-degree arc of fire, but that they can also be used to fire upon airborne targets. The fact that these weapons have a rapid-fire mode makes them terrifyingly effective for this task. Its shoulder-mounted weapons are two four-shot missile pods, which are used solely as anti-personnel weapons. The warheads of the missiles are what Terran military personnel would refer to as "beehive" rounds: at the midpoint between their firing point and their targets, the warheads detonate and spray them with lethal flechette-type darts. The size of the warheads insures that the casualties from them are huge, to say the least. There are enough missiles for two com- plete reloads of the missile pods. For the job of breaking through defensive fortifications, the Terror Machine is armed with a heavy laser cannon, which is mounted in the chest. Although it, like the plasma-bolt projectors, has a 360-degree arc of fire, it is limited to firing at targets at or below its level. Its most powerful and versatile weapon, however, is the tail-mounted particle- beam cannon. This weapon can either destroy its targets or, at slightly lower power levels, stun them into insensibility (in the case of living beings). The defenses of the Terror Machine are every bit as formidable as its weapons. The primary defense is, of course, its armored shell. At its thickest, it is over a foot and a half thick (in the chest area), with areas like the arms and head having a thickness of one foot even. However, it does not rely solely upon its armor for protection; a powerful energy-shield generator housed within its body provides additional protection. The Terror Machine is capable of operating semi-autonomously, requiring only periodic updating of its onboard computer to allow for unforseen complications to whatever mission it has been given. In outward appearance, the Terror Machine resembles a huge tank-like vehicle with four sets of treads, upon which a humanoid upper body has been mounted. The humanoid body has been constructed to resemble that of a Nth Legionnaire, with the difference being that the head has been designed to resemble a high- tech horned skull. Major Tom 2009
9. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine That's not exactly true... the 'Magro' button on the Fabrica menu makes characters that are a bit on the scrawny side. Major Tom 2009
10. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine This one's something of a "What If" pic -- as in what if the character of Cygnus from the Japanese anime series Saint Seiya was female instead of male? Major Tom 2009
11. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Here's a villain for either Champions, Dark Champions, or Pulp Hero -- the Black Mandarin: Alternatively, he could also be an evil warlord in a Post-Apocalyptic Hero campaign. Major Tom 2009
12. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... And Tuxedo Mask runs screaming in terror... Well, wouldn't you if you were confronted with a misanthropic, upright-standing critter that looks vaguely hyena-like wearing a Japanese schoolgirl's sailor-type outfit? Major Tom 2009

21. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine This is Thespian, one of the PCs in Villainous Scum's VB campaign. This isn't the costume that the character wore during the run of the campaign; this was more of a costume concept that I had after hearing what the character's name was. The actual costume was a full-body suit with a Kirbyesque, high-tech look to it (I couldn't find that particular paper pic, so I went with the conceptual design rather than the actual one when I did this pic). Thespian's player also ran the character of Captain Incredible during the campaign, and alternated between the two during its run. Major Tom 2009

23. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine This is Providence, one of the PCs that was in Villainous Scum's Vibora Bay campaign years ago, and was the second of three characters that the player ran during the course of the campaign. He's also the PC whose comment about not being a flight risk (his character was being charged with murder at that time) prompted one of the other PCs to remark "What do you mean, you're not a flight risk? You've got wings, for God's sake!" (). Major Tom 2009
