slikmar
I thought that Mordo was a, if not friend, student rival of Strange and it was that the Ancient One chose Strange that turned Mordo to evil. I like the movie version of Mordo and I think his motivation, though a skewed absolute (which is sort of the Ancient One's point) at least makes sense for a fanatic. Lord Liaden
In the original Dr. Strange origin story Karl Mordo was apprentice to the Ancient One when Stephen Strange arrived at Kamar-Taj; but Mordo had already made a bargain with Dormammu to try to kill the Ancient One. Strange witnessed the Ancient One fighting off their attack, and it was that demonstration of the supernatural that prompted Strange to become the Ancient One's new apprentice. Mordo was jealous of Strange, though, particularly when Strange became Sorcerer Supreme. I also prefer movie Mordo, a good but inflexible man who felt deceived and betrayed by the person he'd devoted his life to. Classic Baron Mordo is a bit too mustache-twirly for my taste. pinecone, Ranxerox, Pattern Ghost and 2 others
Matt the Bruins
Clea was extra pinup babe-esque in her early depictions, but I'd rather have the role go to a pretty enough actor who can knock my socks off with the depth of her performance than a model "actress" who looks exactly the part but can't act her way out of a paper bag. (See the approach taken with January Jones and Olivia Munn in the X-Men movies.) They can cast Emily Blunt as any remaining character in the Dr. Strange roster and I'll be happy to watch her. Lord Liaden
Johnny Depp has gotten lazy, descending into repeated self-parody for the sake of a paycheck (which it does sound like he could really use these days). If he actively campaigned for the role I might accept that he really wants it and would be committed to giving it his best. Otherwise I'd rather pass. Personally, I find Emily Blunt has a bit of an unearthly appearance which may suit her better to Clea than stereotypical prettiness.
assault
Sounds like Eva Green would be ideal. She's two years older than Blunt, but combines acting experience and hotness in pleasant proportions.
slikmar
I'd rather see Eva as a Morgan Le Fey. I think she would be spectacular. pinecone, Lord Liaden and assault

Well, fortunately Feige does not face such a binary choice. There are plenty of beautiful women out there with acting talent sufficient to carry off a role like Clea. Feige does not need a Meryl Streep for this. He really only requires an actress who can embody this particular role convincingly, even if she will never win an Oscar in her lifetime, just like, say, Gal Gadot. Lord Liaden
And at this point, any actor who isn't already an A-lister would be a fool to turn down a major role in a Marvel movie. You'll make good money, get lots of exposure, probably enjoy the experience, and maybe even find some long-term job security.
Matt the Bruins
I'm sure Eva Green would do great as Morgan Le Fay, but Clea's presence in the narrative opens the door for a more central Dr. Strange foe: Umar the Unspeakable. Whom Green would be PERFECT for. pinecone, Lawnmower Boy, Lord Liaden and 1 other
Greywind
From what I've seen Nightmare is the villain of the piece.
Lord Liaden
Which makes perfect sense. Nightmare is right after Dormammu at the top of Strange's rogues gallery.
Matt the Bruins
Yep. With Baron Mordo rounding out the trifecta of his most iconic enemies. If Mordo's not a main villain in the second one, he almost surely will be in the third.
Greywind
From what I've gathered, Mordo is the catalyst that puts Strange and Nightmare at odds.

Starlord
Untitled in May 2023 looks awesome, if they can get a great director, great actors and a great script it may be the best Marvel movie ever. Heck, it might even surpass Untitled from October 2022.
Bazza
Oh c'mon. we all know that Untitled from 3rd November is the best Marvel movie ever made.
