Lucius
The Very Hairy Man stopped and looked for a moment. The man he was looking at was just sitting, but somehow it didn't seem he was stopped for a moment's rest. The way he held his head in his hands suggested either deep exhaustion or overwhelming sadness. The hairy man set down the block he was carrying and sat on it next to the sitting man. "Are you okay?" he asked, "Do you need water maybe?" The sitting man looked up revealing a tear stained face. "No I'm just......I was there when some of the bodies were uncovered." "Oh" said the Hairy Man, and waited. He knew the condition some of those bodies had been in. "They were CRUSHED!" said the mourning one, "their entrails were.....everywhere." The Hairy Man put a hand on the shoulder of the distressed one. "That's a hard thing to see, even for a hardened warrior" said the Hairy Man. "My wife," said the distressed one, "she used to work in the Tower as a clerk. I keep seeing her face on those bodies..." In some alarm the Hairy Man asked "Your wife is okay, right? Wasn't in the Tower when it went down?" "She is okay, but I keep thinking of what could have been...." "Stop thinking of that. Go home and take the rest of the day off and see your wife and KNOW she's okay. I'll talk to the foreman, he'll listen to me." The man in such distress looked at the Hairy Man and asked "Who ARE you anyway? And why do I feel a little better just for having talked to you?" "I am Enkidu" said Enkidu, "The companion of Gilgamesh. If the foreman won't listen to me, I'll get His Majesty on his case." The distressed man actually smiled at that. "Let's go talk to the foreman then and then I'm going to go see my wife." My Heart Guy: Enkidu, from the Epic of Gilgamesh. Pariah
You can have made up to 9 picks at this point. Two more picks remain, to be chosen tomorrow and Monday (or Tuesday if you're on the other side of the side of the IDL). I'll see what I can do about getting updates posted tomorrow. I don't anticipate putting up a poll until this time next week, in all likelihood. Great work so far, everyone. Let's finish strong!

Hermit
He dreamed of Atlantis again, not one Atlantis, but all of them. He wished he could get back on his drugs. He didn't know why he kept being told to Dream of Atlantis, but that's all that was asked of him. Asked? hell, he was being made to dream. And if it was any comfort that his obedience was causing frustration to his captor, that comfort was lost in sensations of confusion, and helplessness. He wished he could get back on his drugs again. Option: George Orr, from Ursula K. Guin's Lathe of Heaven Cancer

Heh, shows that I have never followed the Stargate franchise. "The Ori" to me is short for the Trapezium Cluster in Orion, θ Orionis. At one time, a couple of the hottest known stars were in there. assault
Epilogue. Under Wildwood Cemetary. "OK, boss, I just don't get it", said Plastic Man. "Why was a mad psychologist working with an easily as crazy robot, and what did dinosaurs have to do with it? Oh, and what was that stuff with Rex and the kid?" "Well, Plastic Man, that's why we needed such a specialist team. The profound, but not-quite-human insights of Detective Chimp, the dinosaur wrangling skills of Archie and Rex, and the love powers of Venus - all contributed to our success. And, of course, a boy needs his dog." "OK, I get that. And I get that you put the team together and pointed us in the right direction. But what was I doing here? I didn't do anything except nearly get hypnotized, vaporized and eaten by a T Rex." "Didn't you, Plastic Man. Didn't you?", responded the Spirit. "Anyway, I've got another case you might be interested in. Apparently, a duck, a horse and a Rabbi walked into a bar..." Pariah
Egad, what with the four-day weekend and all, I've fallen behind. But fear not! Updates are coming! As are my last few picks. The Big Guy: Sergeant Juan "Johnny" Rico, Mobile Infantry (Obviously this is the version from the novel, because the movie was a big, squishy vat of rancid weasel entrails below several meters of used catheter tubing disposed of in a radioactive tailings pond. Besides, if the cap troopers don't have armor, what's the point?) Old Man

Please take the remainder of this week to write fiction, finalize rosters, that kind of thing. Oh, yeah, a title would help, too. Thanks!
