The gun notwithstanding, do Europeans have any right to sneer?  Behold, the Full English Breakfast--

Blood pudding ?

It is properly called Black Pudding. Where do you think they got the idea in Dungeons and Dragons ?

And the fried bread could be exchanged for toast. The baked beans are actually optional. The cup of tea is not.

And why is tomatoes spelled 'tomahtos' ? Is this another pronunciation gag ?

You could also have chips (French Fried potatoes to the colonials)

"If you’ve been living outside of Australia, chances are you haven’t even heard of Vegemite"

Unless you grew up listening to popular rock music in the 1980s.

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six-foot-four and full of muscle
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich
And he said
"I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover, yeah"

i am confirm that a Vegemite sandwich is a language “spoken” by Australians. And there are better, and worse, songs that are quintessentially Australian.

"The band played Waltzing Mathilda" is one of my favourites. Introduced to me by the Pogues, it was the last song in nearly every Pogues gig I went to.
