Written as a vampire love song, altho if you're seriously into World of Darkness...it's even better if you read the singer as a blood-bound ghoul. Interesting. I'd never heard that. 11 hours ago, Certified said: You've got to check out the Red Right Hand Dr Seuss makeover!
unclevlad
To mattingly: oh yeah. First, maybe 2nd time I heard the song...I was doing live-action Vampire some, I think, at that point, and reading a lot of the Vampire material, including the Book of Ghouls. And it just hit me that this song is a *perfect* characterization of a ghoul's infatuation and loss. Wondered for a long time...is that really what it was about? Ages ago...yeppers. Vampires, anyway; I daresay the songwriter is probably completely unaware of the WoD, much less that somewhat specialized aspect. Much like I always figured The Matrix was, in its way, Mage, with Neo being a Correspondence adept.
st barbara
I am surprised that ho one has mentioned "Sympathy For The Devil" by The Rolling Stones yet. Someone mentioned Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" (of course !) but given the number of Slasher flicks, some built around Halloween, wouldn't "Exciteable Boy" by appropriate as well ? Bazza
There is a band named H. P. Lovecraft. Some of their songs like White Ship are inspired by HPL's writings. Could be appropriate for this playlist.

As he is three though, we had to remove Zombie Prostitute from his playlist. Here are two if his current Favs.
