DamienCurr
How to add a Modifier to a Characteristic in Hero Designer? I have recently purchased Hero Designer. I am trying to apply the Resistant advantage to normal PD and ED. There is no obvious way to do it from the Characteristics tab and I have tried from the Powers tab > Characteristics, but the numbers are not coming out right. I also want the resistant amount to reflect on the Characteristics tab. For example, display as 40 PD (40 rPD). The same for ED. Help. Thanks in advance! Greywind
There's a check box to apply the modifier on the Power to affect the base characteristic.
Lucius
There's also a drop down menu where you can select "add to primary value." That's what you want to get it to show on the Characteristics Tab the way you want it to. Lucius Alexander There's also a palindromedary but only here in my tagline
DamienCurr
Thanks everyone for the responses. I really appreciate your input. I believe I figured it out. I was thinking I needed to add levels to 40 (for the 40 PD or ED) and that was throwing the numbers off. I just left it at zero and applied the Resistant advantage. I checked the correct box and chose the correct option from the drop down. It came out to be 20 points for PD and 20 for ED. This added up the 40 points I had originally calculated and the 40 rPD/40 rED now appears on the Characteristics tab. Back to character building! Mark Perron
Ok, let's get this cleared up. Can you put an advantage on a stat (and how?) or MUST you buy the stat as a power first?????
Simon
Yes and yes. Read the documentation -- specifically, the section titled "Characteristics as Powers"
Mark Perron
So what you meant to say "buy stat as power at 0 value and apply advantage to base stat by checking the appropriate box, as stated on pg. 22 of the HD manual".
Simon
No, I said pretty much exactly what I meant to say.
