Greywind Posted January 27, 2018 Report Share Posted January 27, 2018 Mort Walker, the creator of Beetle Bailey, has died. The cartoonist was 94 years old. Walker died on January 27th at home in Stamford, Connecticut from pneumonia. Beetle, and the Young Lieutenant were the same character, both Mort, Beetle when he was inducted, and the Lieutenant when he got his commission. His reluctance to address the Vietnam war, froze the strip, permanently state-side, sometime in the 1960s. And there it was, forever more.
