Hyper-Man
It's not really competition because champions 1e was basically derived from it. HM
Doc Democracy
If Checker were looking to promote an RPG, it would have been good if they had come to HERO. All those graphic novels as content would have been useful for adventures etc. Doc

Joe Walsh
Huh. "..original author Lou Zocchi"? The game is by Donald Saxman. Zocchi published it. Superhero 2044 had some interesting concepts, and is definitely the granddaddy of all superhero RPGs, but it always seemed more like a PBM design than a tabletop game, with the schedules and all. I wonder if Steve Perrin's adding powers to it, or sticking with Saxman's power-free design. It sounds like the latter, from the description. I'll be interested to see what comes of this. I'm not in the market for a new Superhero 2044, and definitely not in the market for a card game based on it. But I'll be interested to learn what Steve Perrin & co. do to the system. What's next, a Supergame update?
