g3taso
I've looked, and there is a serious dearth of vehicles on the board. No love? Vehicles have always been equipment for me, but I've been thinking that there is plenty of room for a character who has vehicles as part of "the package". I've been working on a hover bike for a character, based loosely off the ossum hoverbike used by Darth Maul in one of the Star Wars movies. Here's what I have: 25STR, 14DEX, 20BODY, 3SPD 29 Gliding 24", x4 Noncombat, rapid Noncombat movement (+1/4), No Turn Mode (+1/4) (43 Active Points); Ground Gliding (-1/4), Physical Manifestation (-1/4) 30 Armor (8 PD/8 ED), Hardened (+1/4) (30 Active Points) So, it's fast and maneuverable (100mph noncombat over any terrain I can reasonably predict) with some reasonable defenses. However, in a SF series just being transportation isn't enough. So in that mindset, please help me pimp this hoverbike up a bit. I'm thinking a 200pt bike all in all (give or take), so how might you improve this bike? A large Detect (passive) for a sensor net? Endurance battery to power other goodies? A couple of drones that can be dropped off while traveling to provide triangulation for targets? Ways to "stealth" the craft so it doesn't appear on sensor nets? Help me out here. Hero Designer format is great, or run what ya brung.
PhilFleischmann
How about Flight, maybe at a slower speed, with a turn mode, just the standard non-combat multiple, and costing 2x END, because it doesn't have the ground to "push off of" when in flies above the ground. And the limitations are there to keep it on the ground most of the time, but you can fly for shorter periods of time when you really need to gain altitude (or to reduce altitude). An obvious addition would be a mounted weapon, maybe with multiple settings - regular, area effect, etc. A TK "tractor beam" primarily intended for hauling cargo. Maybe a small force field to keep the rain off your head, and the bugs out of your mouth. And as long as you've got an enclosed space with a force field, might has well put some climate control for comfort - regular AC and heating is free SFX "color", but you could even give it Life Support, of pretty much any kind at all. Or Change Environment. Communication system, ala police or other emergency responders? And speaking of emergencies, maybe you could have some kind of mini-fire-fighting ability. To truly be "pimped out", it needs extra PRE, of course. You'll want to look good cruising around on this thing. A PA system. "Remain calm! All is well!" A stealth mode is easily achieved with Invisibility. Damage Shield? "Don't touch my hoverbike. It *will* defend itself."

indy523
A bright blue and yellow suit with spangles and a huge hair do Wait wrong Pimp! Since it is a hover bike how about on board Radar. FYI you can always take does not work under water with radar since actual radar cannot work through water, it breaks up the radiation. For mega scale radar you can take not above certain heights due to the curvature of the earth. http://www.ed-thelen.org/pics/rdr-hori-1.pdf You could also have radar dummies, Images only verse radar mobile for confusion in following especially if you have stealth capabilities. Not to mention chaff and fog projectors or a combination of both to dissuade missile locks.

Takaholic
Speaking of Hover Bikes, here's one of the all-time comedy classics. I may have to tinker around with the build in the Vehicles Supplement and spring it in a game sometime. Urusei Yatsura OVA 04 - Raging SherbetThe intro is good for setting up the situation, but Benten, the Alien Biker Goddess starts getting agitated about 8 minutes into thestory, and things go to hell quickly afterwards.Warning: Since this was produced as an original Video episode of the manga it's based on, they show a bit more skin than the TV Seriesbothered showing. Nothing horribly explicit, but I thought a notice might be in order.

PhilFleischmann
Cement tosser - entangle block all sight, does not impede movement How does a "cement tosser" not impede movement? I guess you just mean a small glob of cement to the eyes.

Yup, Spider-man does this too with web shots to the face. It doesn't seem to block movement block them from seeing. The idea of the cement tosser is a Bond car device. The cement makes it impossible for wind shield wipers to clear the obstruction.
