A lot of TI scientific calculators either have scientific notation as a shift function, or they treat numbers in scientific notation (e.g., 6.022 x 1023) as calculations rather than numbers. Quantum mechanics didn't wreck my GPA as badly as thermodynamics and Bessel functions. I never had to take organic chemistry, but I almost wish I had because all the hot nursing students needed help with it.
