Guest Skaramine
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I finish a game of Desktop Taipei, then leave the screen empty and listen to the Midis as they cycle through. gewing
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Today I was extremely cranky, now I am kind of depressed. I'll take it elsewhere, what was that thread about why the stress levels seem to be so high?

Bazza
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I've jsut spent a good couple of hours browsing this site: http://www.fact-index.com/o/op/operating_system.html reading all good tech/computing goodness and wanted to share. All geeks and tech-heads are sure to find some trivia here they didn't know (including the initial public annoucment of Linux). Thoughly reccomended. And it also has other topics like Philosophy, Psychology etc. I may never leave my computer again.

Edsel
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Every time I get in the mood to spend hours on the boards or post lots of stuff, real life rears its ugly head. Suddenly I'm too busy to post a lot. At least for the next week or so.
Scary Drifter
Re: A Thread for Random Musings My son is doing well. The drug ran its course, and he's fine - other than seeming a little high. Thank you, everyone, for the kind words and prayers. It means a lot. Guest Worldmaker
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I've always thought the Righeous Brothers tune "Unchained Melody" was pretty, and certainly got the message across. Hearing Willie Nelson sing it turns it into a song of desperate longing. Amazing how a different artist can put a song into an entirely different orbit. Guest Skaramine
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I made myself a Heckler and Koch USP based on the Lara Croft Tomb Raider pistol, with the barrel weight and extended barrel. I made it without the hammer and safety lever, making it a Variant 7 LEM (Glock-style trigger), like on the P2000. Of course, now it looks a bit like John Crichton's Winona from FarScape too now. I'm definitely using this for multiple costumes at my next convention. And making a spare.
Super Squirrel
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I think one of the best tactics for dealing with political threads is to bump up our non-political threads to the front page more often. Guest Worldmaker
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Has anyone else noticed that the non-political threads have a way of diving headlong into the area of boring drivel, cutesy comments, pun attacks, references to Kara's tits, references to Kara and Rachel's relationship, references to Rachel's temper, inside jokes only a handful of people get, blather, nattering, and other trivia.
