Guest Skaramine
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Yes. Only Republicans are elitist snobs with double standards: "Moore" Hypocrisy Michael Moore's armed bodyguard was arrested by the NY/NJ Port Autho rity Police yesterday at JFK Airport in NYC. He apparently informed the ticket agent that he was carrying a pistol. No comment so far from Moore himself. Moore now joins a noted group of arrogant, self-righteous hypocrites, including Ted Kennedy and Rosey O'Donnel, in piously extolling the "benefits" of gun control for us peons, but having scant interest in practicing it themselves. Witnesses report a very attractive but mean looking redhead racing away from the scene of the crime holding a bloody bat in her hands. If any of you have information about this redhead, there is a $5,000 reward if you keep it to yourself. None of the officers here are eager to track down a person capable of such horrendous violence. Vanguard00
Re: A Thread for Random Musings In the process of doing a little research for a question asked here on the boards, I came up with a very cool idea for a short story. I'm not a professional writer, mind you, but I dabbled for a while years ago. I haven't written much of anything beyond PBEMs in a while--maybe years, even--but I'm excited enough about the idea that I'm very much looking forward to hammering out some words. It'll be good to get back into doing something I love, even if it never sells. Maybe especially so.

BlackSword
Re: A Thread for Random Musings So last night at game night they asked if I could start my Champs campaign next week. I managed to hold off for another couple of weeks as the current GM runs a module, then I am up. Guess I should work on that thing. Looking forward to it as I am going to try to make it a Silver Age style game which the group has never run before. I have most of the background info and generalities complete, now I just need to sit down and start working on the specifics of the campaign world. Guess I need to keep off EQII this weekend and set out guidelines. Sorry for the rambling. I am half-excited about this because I have some great ideas, half-terrified because I want it to succeed and can't guarentee success. death tribble
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Methinks tis time to needle Skaramine. Last night the screened the Brits on ITV. These are the British versions of the Grammys. Anyway various people won like Franz Ferdinand getting two out of five awards, Joss Stone got 2, Keane got 2 but the big winners were the Scissor Sisters. The latter are an American band who have made it big over here. They opened the show with Jim Henson's Creature workshop providing a singing barn, singing melons and singing eggs. The Scissor Sisters won 3 awards International Band, International Breakthrough Artist and International Album. Last award was presented by Siouxsie Sioux who seemed genuinely glad to give them the award. I didn't know she was going to be present and so it was a nice surprise. Samuraiko
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Got the last volume of Dragonball Z - The Cell Games: Nightmare's End last night on DVD (woohoo!) and watched it... I got a bit of a surprise watching it all the way through (since, unlike on the videotapes, the DVDs have the recaps and next episode blurbs), when, in the recap before "Free the Future", the narrator (mis)quotes the Bible! ("O death where is thy victory? O grave where is thy sting?", from Corinthians I, 15:55) Wow... when did DBZ get educated? Must remember to drop them a line and compliment them (and remind them they got it wrong). And I wonder how many people didn't get the quote... This one has working safety levers. And, now I must bulk up my existing DE model. But, the safeties are nice and easy to manipulate. It's just the size of a bicycle... SCUBA Hero
Re: A Thread for Random Musings So. If the adds for Cialis/Levitra/Viagra are to be believed, there are just hordes of women wanting sex, but their partners are not capable... If I were not already partnered exclusively with SCUBA Heroine, I'd put an add in the paper: "Ladies! Your partner doesn't want it enough? Don't put your trust in drugs - call SCUBA Hero for all your erotic needs!" Feh.

Bazza
Re: A Thread for Random Musings The last couple of years, since 2001 I've replaced my car battery 3 times, each time under warrenty. The first was replacement was in 2002, the second in 2003 and the third last week ('05). Each batery came with a two year warrenty. Why did I have such luck wth something obscure like car batteries and not something important...like lotto. Is it too late for me to change my luck SPX?
