Scott Anderson
Actually, it's not Mammal Man yet. I still need a secret origin for him. He has all the powers of a mammal. They are inborn powers, not from gadgets. He's not an alien, but a man of woman born. And ladies, he's all mam-male. Is he a mutant? Did he have a strange biological radiation accident? Did he accidentally touch an ancient enchanted mammal skeleton? How did Mammal Man get his wondrous mammalian powers?
steriaca
Well, he could of been bitten by radioactive animals, but it was more likely that all the animals would of made a meal out of him.
dmjalund
so he has a steady body temperature, give birth to live young and give milk!
Scott Anderson
Well yes, he does make milk
freakboy6117
I thought he was all mam-male so his nipples should be vestigial. Being able to take the powers of all mammals would be pretty awesome swim like a dolphin fly like a bat dive like a sperm whale as strong as a elephant as tough as A rhino. As fast as a cheetah. I suggest he got his powers from a radioactive cocktail of milk from thousands of mammal
assault
His mother was a were-mammal who raised him in a mammal cult, which gave him a mammal amulet after selling his soul to a mammal demon and injecting him with radioactive mammal musk from a race of alien mammals which gave him his powers. Or google any of the zillions of comic characters with animal like powers and steal the origin elements you like.
Lord Liaden
My comic-book pseudo-science explanation would be that something (accidental or deliberate, as you prefer) caused Mammal Man to be able to tap into the genetic heritage of the common evolutionary ancestor that all mammals share, and extrapolate that genetic code to imbue himself with abilities resembling those of any of the species descended from it. Greywind
He's a man. He's already a mammal.
Hyper-Man
The concept still leaves many of the most common animal forms used by Beast Boy of the Teen Titans (gorilla, elephant, whale, mouse, etc...). But some of the otherwise more useful forms become unavailable (T-Rex, bird, snake, etc...). Not a huge impact since flight is still available via bats but nothing else quite beats the presence of a T-Rex. It all balances out if the forms don't all have to be green. Christopher
Maybe it is a mispelling by the press and he actually wanted to go for "Mamal man, hero of the common iranian people"? so he has a steady body temperature, give birth to live young and give milk! The live young part is not on the list of requirements for mammalhood. Monotreme (egg laying mammals) like the Platypus are considered mammals just as well. Mamal powers is actually pretty far fetched, based on mamals being kinda the domination species category on the planet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammal

freakboy6117
Poison of the platypus might be a nice one male platinum have spurs on there back legs that produce a toxin that won't kill people but causes excruciating pain. Also the Cuban Solenodon has toxic spit.
Scott Anderson
He could also have active sonar I suppose, like the whale or the bat.
Lawnmower Boy
He could also have active sonar I suppose, like the whale or the bat. If we're going with sperm whale powers, he could have a massive, intrusive, bludgeoning effect due to massive fat deposits in his head. (It's not implausible. I already have this superpower, and I'm a (non-sperm whale) mammal.
freakboy6117
Just found out platypi also have electroperception like sharks. Which you could use as the basis for Nray vision or spatial awareness
