Christopher R Taylor
Quote Dick Lester happened. Well, that and the overwhelming greed and cheapness of Salkind and Spangler. Sort of sad, given what they accomplished with the first film.
Starlord
Weren't both movies filmed at the same time?
Greywind
Sort of. Donner saw the two movies as one and worked accordingly. Lester had to do reshoots and rework the second movie as Donner refuses to share directorial credit and Lester had to get enough done so that he could take sole credit for it. Christopher R Taylor
Quote Weren't both movies filmed at the same time? 75% of the second was, but then Lester went and re-filmed a bunch so he'd get director credit as Graywind explains. The video is great, very informative and interesting. Starlord
zslane
The Salkinds pulled this stunt once before, with Richard Lester no less. They shot The Three Musketeers as a single film, paying the actors accordingly for the one film they were contracted for, and then split it up into two films, the reasoning being that the movie was too long and would likely fail at the box office at its full length. The furor over this resulted in the infamous "Salkind Clause" that has been in all SAG contracts since then, making it illegal to sign actors to a single film and then splitting up the footage and releasing more than one from it. Christopher R Taylor
Yeah they were cheap greedy buggers, but they sure made some fun movies. Their and Lester's antics even drove John Williams away from working on Superman 2.

If it was set in the 70s she'd be conservatively dressed! And the background could be explained as either disco lights or an LSD flashback! I don't mind the I-am-woman-hear-me-roar-Grrrl-Power! aspect of Batwoman, but I've seen Ruby Rose fail to act her way out of a paper bag on more than one occasion and life's too short to waste any of mine on more of the same. That's fair. I will give her a chance though; sometimes it takes a little while for an actor to settle into a new role. This might just be the role that fits her well enough that she pulls it off. After all, anyone who suffered through the first season of Legends of Tomorrow until it got "good" (not me, BTW) should be able to go the distance with Batwoman, at least until it gets good too. Iuz the Evil
I very much enjoyed the Doom Patrol series. Crazy Jane was fantastic. Larry Trainor, and the negative man entity. Flex Mentallo. The Bureau of Normalcy. Mr. Nobody was a great villain. Robot Man and Rita Farr were good, but not on the same level. I just watched it a second time. I hope they do a second season. mattingly

Iuz the Evil
Damn. Young Justice season 3 was really quite good. Just finished it. Legion flight ring? Brion as King of Markovia? Impending super villain war? Still no Kid Flash but no proof he's dead? So much good stuff. I can't wait for Season

Christopher R Taylor
It was about dead until Wonder Woman came out. Now its weak but possibly going to recover.
Sundog
I'd say the DCU is on life support. A couple reasonable movies and one actually good one don't make up for the script vomit of the previous ones.
Lord Liaden
I get the impression that many moviegoers, including myself, are taking each DC film on a wait-and-see basis. Comic-fandom response, critical response, and popular box-office have been highly irregular for those movies, and Wonder Woman is the only one for which those three factors solidly aligned.
