Christopher R Taylor
Yeah Wondie is clearly 6' or taller in some sources, she's equal to Superman sometimes, who's like 6'2 or taller.

Ternaugh
Chris Hemsworth is too short to be Thor. Hugh Jackman is too tall to be Wolverine. And Mark Hamill is a little short for a stormtrooper. DasBroot, massey and zslane
DasBroot
Pretty much. It's not like Linda Carter was 6'4 either. If you want a true to comics movie representation her solo animated film isn't bad to watch and she was in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. bigdamnhero
I for one am thrilled that Hollywood has outgrown their 80's habit of casting bodybuilders and wrestlers in superhero movies because they "looked the part," whether or not they could actually act. slikmar, Joe Walsh and Pattern Ghost
DasBroot
It's definitely easier to get a decent actor in shape than teach a decent bodybuilder to act. Lord Liaden and bigdamnhero

Heels that fit.

zslane
His acting is adequate. That's about all you can say about it, really.
DasBroot
The characterisation they went with for Drax helps cover any gaps... but yeah, the next Dwayne Johnson he's not (who is probably the best of the lot - and his acting is also only adequate. He's just so damned charming that he can sell any performance. Starlord
Christopher R Taylor
Terry Crews is actually pretty good as an actor, he's been great in everything I've seen him in. Frankly, pro wrestlers are basically actors so they should be able to make that transition pretty well.
zslane
They are actors in a vaudevillian tradition. Serious dramatic/comedic talent they are not. Grailknight, Lawnmower Boy, Nolgroth and 1 other
bigdamnhero
It's definitely easier to get a decent actor in shape than teach a decent bodybuilder to act. Exactly. And sure, there are some wrestlers who can act, but hiring someone because of their pecks is the recipe that gave us so much awful 80s cheese. I've never seen Bautista in anything else, but yeah I think his success as Drax had more to do with the part being perfect for him than in any innate acting talent. zslane
They said the same thing about Arnie during most of his career. Roles like Conan and the T-800 were seen as perfect vehicles for him because they had relatively little dialog and primarily worked off his physical presence instead. Lord Liaden
Chris Hemsworth is too short to be Thor. It helps that most of the actors playing other Marvel superheroes are shorter than their comics counterparts, too, so Hemsworth looks the right size in comparison. But Chris has such a forceful onscreen presence, he gives the impression of being taller than he is. Old Man
I think Bautista's not bad at acting. Dwayne Johnson's actually pretty good at it. I can rattle off the names of a bunch of highly successful non-wrestler "actors" who are not as good at acting. That said, wrestler/actors are not exactly on the Oscar short list either. Pattern Ghost
Bautista has a bit more act-y part in the new Blade Runner sequel thing. He's in this clip:

But then Arnold went and took a bunch of acting lessons - at a time when he was the highest paid star in Hollywood, mind you - specifically so he could bust out of roles like that. Greywind
Seems DC/Warner have finally realized what most of us have been saying for years now. http://www.vulture.com/2017/09/dc-cinematic-universe-is-being-downplayed.html bigdamnhero and Armory
zslane
I think that's wise. DC doesn't know how to pull off the "interconnected movie universe" thing that Marvel does--mostly because they don't have the patience to do it right--so they might as well stop trying to half-ass something they're no good at. Starlord
Having also seen Bautista in Riddick and Bushwick (which was nominated for some International awards), I think he's fine. He plays a perfect Drax, who is supposed to be a bit limited given the character's particular eccentricities. Comparing him to total stiffs like Hulk Hogan and Tiny Lister from the '80s is ridiculous IMO.
