Vondy
My problem with Agents of SHIELD is that it takes forever to get the to point. I'm only watching it out of sheer inertia. As I grow older I find myself less impressed with inertia and more impressed with gravity. Inertia alone is not enough to keep me watching any show. Starlord
Jason, How will you hold up in a fight scene with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman? I played Khal Drogo and Conan. The first line on my resume says, "Call me if you need asses kicked". My eyebrows alone could crush Cavill, drive Affleck before me and laugh at the lamentations of the Gadot. bigdamnhero, Enforcer84, slikmar and 4 others
Lawnmower Boy
So Comics Alliance has a review of Suicide Squad up. If you haven't the precious time to read it, just check the thread title.
ghost-angel
Everything about that movie makes it sound crushingly horrible.... And yes, I still want to see it. Apparently I have done something wrong and feel the need to punish myself. (though, thankfully I have not sunk to such depths as to feel the need to see SvB) L. Joe Walsh
The early reviews are trending negative. Looks like DC may have another miss on their hands. <sigh> I was really looking forward to this one. There was so much potential...
zslane
There was so much potential... Was there? Joe Walsh
Was there? I must be in the minority who hears the concept behind the Suicide Squad and is just filled with lots of meh. Oh, to be sure, there was nothing earth-shattering there. But I felt there was an opportunity to make a fun film that shows off another aspect of the world of comic books. Old Man
Was there? I must be in the minority who hears the concept behind the Suicide Squad and is just filled with lots of meh. A super powered Dirty Dozen has lots of potential, but the execution matters. I still want to see it after reading all the stories about the filming. Apparently Jared Leto is a method actor, and this time he was playing a psychopathic lunatic with a sick sense of humor...
zslane
I guess. All I can say is that the CW version of that concept did not exactly leave me wishing someone would come along and do it again (even if it turned out much, much better). Christopher R Taylor
Suicide Squad was terrific in the comic run after Crisis, but it takes a good writer to make it work. If they don't have a great story and interesting characters, its just "who are these guys and why do I give a crap?"
Starlord
Proof it's an interesting concept that can be done well. JLU - Task Force X https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnUohGDIzog bigbywolfe and Hermit
Hermit
So Comics Alliance has a review of Suicide Squad up. If you haven't the precious time to read it, just check the thread title. OUCH! That's disheartening. I'll take a watch anyway but I'm very sad to hear this. And while I don't live or die by Rotten Tomatoes, the 36% there (Currently) does not feel me with cheer either
Starlord
Seems like the consensus is - they finally had a movie that should be grimdark but decided to go with crowd-pleasing and silly. Suicide Squad seems to work when its a team of bad people forced into terrible situations by really, really, really bad people. PS: Will Smith can be a really great actor when he wants to be true to a character. However, most of the time he seems to just play a caricature of himself. In every trailer I've seen, he seems to have unfortunately chosen the latter for Deadshot.
Bazza
From twitter:Nick Robinson: "Here’s the state of online film discussion 2016 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Co3zPjcVMAAy1De.jpg" Caution: swear words (f-words) in the picture so i provided a link. And that headline is just funny. Joe Walsh
Bazza
Also highest rated DCEU film is Man of Steel at 55% with a Rotten Tomatoes rating. The MCU's lowest rating is 66%. Coincidentally Marvel Studio's film with the highest rating on RT is Iron Man at 94%. Ie the first films are rated the highest.

Bazza
Winter Soldier got around 91% IIRC. 89%. Civil War is 90% and Guardians is 91%. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/franchise/marvel_cinematic_universe But my point is the same, the first film in each series/franchise/universe has the hugest RT score. Joe Walsh
Is it just me, or does the poster look like something from the 70s? It certainly doesn't scream "See this movie now!" to me.
