Ninja-Bear
And another point to is that I didn't charge for "normal" equipment. And if you really want to save points only charge for stuff that makes special equipment special. I.e. for an ice gun charge only for the I.p.e. for the ice bullets not for the whole RKA. massey
Most of the Golden Age heroes were published very briefly. For every Superman, you had a dozen Red Bees. The Red Bee ran for two years and was not very popular. Many Golden Age characters have had more development and been retroactively made more important by Roy Thomas and others in the modern era. You could probably do a lot of those guys as 150 point heroic characters. If your big battle for the session involves 5 bank robbers, who each have a 2 Spd, a 4 OCV, and 4 PD, and carry Tommy Guns, then that will be a challenging fight. However, Superman was shrugging off nuclear bombs as soon as there were nuclear bombs to shrug off.

assault
I actually started designing the Red Bee on 250 points. I didn't finish because it was kind of pointless. He would have been a playable character though - one of the many two-fisted mystery men. In theory he could have grown into someone quite tough - imagine what happens when a swarm of bees flies inside a tank! Air Wave is a slightly less weird example of a similar character. His abilities would make him a terrifyingly good detective, and he can punch faces with all but the best of them. (The "best of them" being the likes of Wildcat and the Atom.) I've been wanting to get back into designing some Golden Age characters, using 6e this time, but I'm super-ultra-busy at the moment, due to a new job. Even my weekend was busy. Based on the Who's Who in the DC Universe the Golden Age Air Wave would have the following abilities. He would have Telekinesis with a Magnetism Special Effect He would have Extra Dimensional Movement [Earth One] with No Conscious Control He would have a Megascale Teleport that only worked on Telephone lines. He would have ES: Radio Perception & Transmit He would have Clinging, and Running only along Telephone Lines Besides these powers he would have Martial Arts, and various detective skills, plus electronics, systems operation, and FB: District Attorney. Christopher R Taylor
My favorite kind of golden age character is the Dr Mid-Nite or Crimson Avenger type, a guy that has one or two interesting powers and is other wise just a two-fisted detective type. rjcurrie
This is very cool, I would certainly back this project. OK...why is it when I "quote" something...I...Don't.??? This was in reponse to the possible Kickstarter for GAC... I find that the problem is that some newer versions of IE are somewhat incompatible with the board software and thus, don't include the quotes. I haven't seen the issue with Firefox or Chrome. Enforcer84
if it's and IE issue, put Herogames.com in your compatibility settings (tools > Compatibility settings) and it will react better.

Christopher R Taylor
Sadly my GAC campaign is going on hold indefinitely, as one of the players wants to run a Savage Worlds Star Wars campaign. While I like the idea of playing this game and trying out Savage Worlds, I have so many ideas and there's so much interesting stuff coming up in the next months in my planned golden age campaign I hate to put it on hold. The next month, the Battle of Britain starts, Captain America is born, and a battle with German saboteurs is going to rage across the city. So many plans, I hope some day I can get back to them.
