Ninja-Bear
Hello all, I have a question dealing with AP on HA on rDEF. I know that AP halves a def. When I reread AP rules (for 5th) it mentions that AP is used for the damage its bought for. So if I have AP on HA, therefore qhen I attack someone with armor (rDEF), that person gets full armor value? It would not get halved correct? Grailknight
An AP attack of any kind will halve any non-hardened defense.
Ninja-Bear
Grailknight will it halve the resistent defense?
Greywind
If it isn't hardened, yes, it will reduce resistant.
Hyper-Man
resistant is the defense vs. killing damage hardened is the advantage that counters the armor piercing advantage inpenetratable is the advantage the counters the penetrating advantage they are individually distinct from one another. an ability can have any or all as appropriate but the interactions are still separate as above. Grailknight
What they said. I should have elaborated more but was falling in and out of sleep.
Ninja-Bear
Thanks everyone. Hyperman I (for some odd reason) was thinking that is you bought AP for normal attacks then it wouldnt apply to resisdent def cause they are two different things. Hyper-Man
You may have been remembering some of the funky 5e rules for Find Weakness (which had to target normal or resistant defenses; armor and force field were considered resistant defenses but defenses made resistant by the damage resistance power were still considered 'normal' defenses as far as Find Weakness was concerned).
