JmOz
I am trying to form a list of examples of the different archetypes as presented in Champions Complete. My goal is one from each of the following universe: DC, Marvel, Champions. With characters who blur the lines being placed firmly into one (However a character who over his career has changed is open game) Right now I am struggling with characters in the "Hotshot Pilot", having trouble coming up with ANY
Steve
Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) or the Blackhawks from DC come to mind.
Cassandra
Han Solo would be a hotshot starship pilot. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow is a great movie featuring a pilot with a highly modified P-40 and an alternate reality 1940s.

Greywind
Wash from Firefly was a hotshot pilot. For Marvel I'd go with Ben Grimm.
JmOz
Used Ben already, Blackhawks is good for DC...should have thought of them.... Still trouble with Marvel, someone who is all about their vehicle, just can't think of anyone (Not many use vehicles really) Was thinking ghost rider, but that does not sit right with me.... Greywind
The Punisher with his Battle Wagon. Captain America with van/motorcycle. Moon Knight with his toys. The problem with Marvel, is the ones that were about their vehicles were usually toy tie-ins.
Hyper-Man
Hotshot pilot is as much a description of character attitude as actual actions. I agree that Hal Jordan is a good fit for DC. Hawkeye and Iron Man from Marvel might be a good fit as well.
Steve
How about Carol Danvers (Ms. Marvel)? She used to be USAF, I believe.
Lawnmower Boy
"Hotshot pilots," Marvel-style: -Iron Man and War Machine; Falcon and Nighthawk; -Star-Lord, before he lost Ship; -Corsair (and the Starjammers); -Darkhawk; -Rob Takiuchi (yes, I had to look that up) and Red Ronin; -U.S. One; -Razorback, at various points. .... and, of course, Stilt-Man. JmOz
Yah, when I get to Power Armor Marvel will be easy...
TheQuestionMan
Who has crashed the most Quin Jets?
Steve
Didn't Black Panther crash a few times in a Quinjet? You might have to go back to the Golden Age of comics in Marvel for flying ace types.
csyphrett
When I think of Marvel hotshot pilots, I think of Team America and their mutant creation the Marauder, most pilots from GI Joe especially Wild Bill, John Jameson when he worked for the Avengers, The Phantom Eagle, and almost all Ghost Riders, but especially Johnny Blaze with or without powers. CES
Steve
DC also had the Challengers of the Unknown and Kyle "Ace" Morgan. Marvel Cinema Universe has Melinda May from "Agents of SHIELD" described as an ace pilot.
csyphrett
DC had Enemy Ace and Balloon Buster. CES
JmOz
OK, circling back, need help with the following Giants: both marvel and DC, note that these are not size changers, these are ALWAYS big Brawler: DC. For some reason every brick I can think of is a FISS...
csyphrett
DC's Nuklon/Atom Smasher's base height was 7 feet but he gets bigger. Have to think about any other examples. The first brawler that comes to mind is the old version of the Creeper. maybe Kirby's OMAC CES
Hyper-Man
In the DCAU Solomon Grundy would qualify. Same for Clayface. In Marvel I think the Abomination would qualify.
JmOz
Wow great replies. I thought of Nuklon, but I am thinking they should start at 15' or so....Still need giants, I decided to shrink the mystic category because I feel most are just F/X on the archetype so that just leaves coming up with a melee weapon master for DC and the Giants.... Steve
For a pure Martial Artist from DC, Lady Shiva or Richard Dragon is who comes to mind first. For Marvel, it would be Shang Chi.
