He was just one of the people trying to flee from the destruction. But as he fled he noticed not everyone was. A beautiful woman in a business suit was trying to pull a man along with her. He was just standing there watching as Destroyer's forces approached. Mike changed course and went over to them. Arriving where they were Mike heard the man saying things like. "No this isn't what it's supposed to be like." and "I don't want this." Together Mike and the woman managed to drag the man away and for the next few hours they hid from the battle. At one point when Mike was going to see if their current location was safe. The man injected him with something. Mike demanded to know what it was, but the man just asked what Mike's name was. After he told the man the man responded. "Something I don't deserve, but you do." Mike was going to continue the argument when there was a loud explosion nearby. He went to look, and when he got back the woman was practically screaming at the man. "Have you gone completely mad?" She asked. "No Samantha. I've gone sane." he said. "Whatever you've gone we have to go." Mike interrupted. They had to change locations twice more. Unfortunatly the man was hit be stray fire during the next move and died.Finally the battle was over, and Destroyer's forces had been driven back. Mike went back to work and with all the needed repairs had a lot to do. He barely noticed the man's picture in the paper declaring him the CEO of Darius Industries. Or the odd tingling sensation in his body. A few days later a limo pulled up in front of his house. A lawyer came to the door, and explained that at some point during the battle the man had used his personal computer to draw up a new will. Mike had inherited a trust of stocks for Darius Industries. In fact they were near a majority of stocks. Mike was now rich. He met with Samantha Cross and the other board members of Darius. The other board members were unpleasant. Still he shrugged it off. After all it was trying times for the company and Mike didn't know anything about running a corporation. Samantha asked how he had been feeling. Mike admitted to feeling in the best shape of his life. In fact now that he thought of it, he seemed to be stronger and faster than ever. Samantha arranged for him to go to a few parities. At first he was horribly out of his depth at a posh soiree, but he soon met Caroline Benetly who started showing him the ropes. For Mike it wasn't quite love at first sight but it was close. He also met Derrick Wentworth who seemed to take great pleasure at showing Mike up at everything. A week later his physical abilities were no longer odd. He had become inhumanly strong, fast, and able to leap great distances. He went to meet with Samantha to tell her about it. She said she knew and it was about time because they were going to be dead shortly. It seems Darius had joined the Committee a group of tech firms that had hoped to join with Destroyer's forces and help rule the world. What Mike had been injected with was a formula designed to give Darius certain powers. As Mike wasn't Darius she didn't think the powers would have be the expected ones, but there would be some. She took him to a lab where they tested Mike. As they did she explained that with Darius gone and Destroyer defeated the Committee had decided to take over Darius Industries. Which meant killing the two of them. It turned out one power did come out as expected. The biodisruption touch. Mike looked around at the equipment prepared. There was a black suit with a skull mask, and weapons of various sorts. He changed the suits color and made the mask less frightening. He also incorporated two of the weapons in the lab into the suit. Over the next few weeks he fought off attacks from the Committee and also foiled crimes by Shady Lady and Chicanery. But the near constant attacks finally made him realize what he was doing wasn't working, so he went to UNTIL. They made a deal with Samantha and she stayed out of prision and the members of Darius board who were Committee members went in. What rationale explains draining someone's natural armor or leaping ability, and it also drains their ability to physically weaken living targets?
