Kealios
I'd love to find the cover art for the 4th ed FH...the rider with spear facing off against the ogre in the snow. Ive done a search for about an hour, and other than a blurry pic on ebay, no luck. Do you have a link, or know where I can find a digital copy? I want it for my wallpaper
Ternaugh
I'm pretty sure that was a Larry Elmore picture, so you might be able to find it at his website, http://larryelmore.com/

NuSoardGraphite
This right here is the quality of artwork we need for any proposed version designed to appeal to the masses. detailed. clearly defined scene (warrior vs ogre). colorful. all around solid. Ninja-Bear
I always thought it was a minotaur not an ogre.
mhd
If I remember correctly it's some kind of not-quite ogre from Elmore's own not-quite-D&D world of "Loerem" (*groan*). Where dwarves are Hungols and elves Wapanese. The cover itself is better than a lot of his usual fare, as there are no women in it... mhd
I've checked my Sovereign Stone stuff, apparently it's a "Bahk". Which sounds like something a Bostonite would say.

Doesn't matter what he's painting.
Jkeown
I bought a print of this from Larry a few years ago. It's the first RPG my wife and I played together. That exact edition of FH. We were married to other people back then, and now that print hangs in our living room.
Christopher R Taylor
I like Larry Elmore's stuff quite a bit, although his Snarfquest leaves me flat. I agree though, that era of Hero was great for high end illustrations for covers. They went and got really great artists to do covers in each genre. mhd
So, you don't like women... Hey, in other contexts I'm perfectly fine with leather lingerie and 80s hair
