tkdguy
I've never heard of this one before, but it looks interesting. If nothing else, you can have great visuals for your Star HERO campaign.
Sundog
Looks VERY Wing Commander. Which, provided you ignore the execrable so-called movie, could be a good thing.
Nolgroth
Looks VERY Wing Commander. Which, provided you ignore the execrable so-called movie, could be a good thing. That's because it is being made by Chris Roberts, the creator of the original Wing Commander games. For Space Sim fans like me, this could well turn out to be one of the best games ever. It is a portion of a game called Star Citizen that has received massive crowd funding. If even half of the Kickstarter promises are kept, it should be very fun. My only real complaint is that there is an element of Play to Win already associated with the game (pre-order ships with the more powerful ones going to the larger pre-orders) but I am willing to overlook that aspect if there is an in-game method of growing into those more powerful ships. From press releases and interviews, that seems to be the case. We'll see when it is released. After the X:Rebirth debacle, I am not pre-ordering anything. Ever. I don't know what you're talking about, there was no Wing Commander movie. @Nolgroth From my understanding, all the ships that were handed out during the pre-order/kickstart/crowdfunding can be acquired within the game. The only thing the "pre-sale" ships have going for them is something called Life Time Insurance. Which, I think, means you don't have to pay the in-game insurance premiums on the hull/components so that you can never lose your pre-sale ship. I know that's an extremely over simplification of things but as I didn't participate in the kickstarter, and doubt my system will be powerful enough to run the game, I haven't been following things that closely. BlueCloud2k2
Hey, some of us liked the Wing Commander movie. It was campy B-Rated bad-science sci-fi, but still enjoyable for what it was. Then, I only ever played the SNES Wing Commander so *shrug*

Old Man
The Wing Commander movie you mean? Starring noted thespian Freddie Prinze Jr.? (And also Matt Lillard, Saffron Burrows, and Tcheky Karyo, who are all pretty solid actors?) My favorite part was when they had to push the crashed fighter off the deck with a bulldozer so other fighters could land... in zero-G. BlueCloud2k2
Maybe the ship's artifical gravity had something to do with it?
