Old Man
Any teams I've forgotten? Well, let's see: X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, All New X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, X-Factor, eXiles, X-Force, Excalibur, New Mutants, Generation X, Wolverine and the X-Men, Weapon X... I think I'm forgetting some. Alpha Flight and Fantastic Four are a couple of actually different teams off the original list.

DShomshak
Many years ago when I was but a lad, in an idle moment I wtoe lists for various Alternate Avengers teams. For instance, the All-Science Avengers (Iron Man, Dr. Pym, that sort, the Mystical Avengers (Dr. Strange, Brother Voodoo, Black Knight -- he can be on the Scientific Avengers too, bizarrely enough), the Spinoff Character Avengers (War Machine, Giant-Man II, etc.) My favorite, though, was probably the Backworld Avengers, for an alternate Earth where the well-known heroes were villains and some of the villains were heroes: Radioactive Man, Blacklash, Baron Zemo (atoning for his Nazi father), and so on. assault
No point in Robotman when you have Cyborg. Basically the New Teen Titans were the 70s Titans plus a bunch of "homages" to the 70s version of the Doom Patrol. Cyborg was the Robotman homage. Raven was (kind of) Negative Woman. Starfire was Celsius/Tempest. And I've just completed my team lineup: Doom Patrol Beast Boy Cyborg Oracle Raven Starfire Obviously Oracle plays the role of the Chief. assault
There are a couple of Captain Atom comics at http://www.comicbookplus.com Yes, I know about them. I've considered doing some writeups, but have never gotten around to it. He's a pretty standard OIHID type, although I'm not sure if it disadvantages him enough for that. Given the way he uses the transformation in the story with Rigor Mort, a Multiform might be more reasonable. I'd go with OIHID though. Bikini is a fairly capable character in his own right. Speaking of whom, I'd be tempted to just go with "Larry Lockhart" as his real name. Or not. To distance him from the Charlton/DC Captain Atom, I'd play up the "Atom Man" aspect. They use it pretty interchangeably with Captain Atom. I don't really know anything about Princess Lais. She seems very competent, but I don't know anything about her background. I think basing her on Narda from Mandrake would be safe enough. The licorice ads are... "fascinatingly" racist, aren't they? They're why I haven't linked to these comics before. The Spirit is worse on the racism score.
