Re: Usable By Others with a VPP to simulate a wish spell

My real point is that writing something that powerful up in Hero just seems to be a waste of time. I would rather say that the character has a wish and not worry about the mechanics of the Wish spell. I just worry about the mechanics of what was wished FOR. I think that any GM would want to really think about the repercussions of any wish a PC makes. They have to decide whether to grant said wish or twist it in some way.

If we MUST write up something like that. I guess you would do something like 75d6 Major Transform with Variable Advantage. That should take care of any wish the person might want. It's ridiculous to actually roll for such a thing, but if that's your thing. Then do so.

I still say Treat the Wish as a Plot Device and worry about the writeup for the effects wished for after they are wished for. No GM in their right mind would allow a PC the ability to cast a wish spell with no limits (ie expensive materials, Hard to find place to cast the spell, takes a long time to cast etc). No campaign could withstand the onslaught of such a series of spells.

YMMV, You can do what you want. This is the way I would handle it and nothing I have seen here makes me think any differently.

Hell, what campaign could withstand the effects of an unlimited wish?

GM: What is your wish?

PC: I wish to rule all possible worlds and dimensions, unequivocally, for eternity, without possibility of being dethroned.

Or that old hat..

I wish for 10 wishes

lol

Or hey, lets just make this all easier. Transform can transform me, easily, into a "Being with the power to turn an area into nirvana". And I only have 10 body.... easy enough to do, right?

Except that if a Transform gives you an ability you didn't have, it must either

1. Take away an equal number of points from something

2. Give Disadvantages (Complications) of equal points (at least in prior editions, not sure about this one)

or

3. 1/5 of the added Character Points is added to your BOD for the purpose of the Transform.

Re: Usable By Others with a VPP to simulate a wish spell

A man was walking along a California beach and stumbled across an old lamp. He picked it up and rubbed it and out popped a genie. The genie said, "OK. You released me from the lamp, blah blah blah. This is the fourth time this month and I'm getting a little sick of these wishes so you can forget about three. You only get one wish!"

The man sat and thought about it for a while and said, "I've always wanted to go to Hawaii but I'm scared to fly and I get very seasick. Could you build me a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over there to visit?"

The genie laughed and said, "That's impossible. Think of the logistics of that! How would the supports ever reach the bottom of the Pacific? Think of how much concrete...how much steel!! No, think of another wish."

The man said OK and tried to think of a really good wish. Finally, he said, "I've been married and divorced four times. My wives always said that I don't care and that I'm insensitive. So, I wish that I could understand women....know how they feel inside and what they're thinking when they give me the silent treatment....know why they're crying, know what they really want when they say 'nothing'....know how to make them truly happy...."

The genie asked, "Do you want that bridge two lanes or four?"

"Didja know you got a guy a foot tall playing piano on your bar?"
