Automatons, END, and Maneuvers

Zane_Marlowe

Question

Hi Steve, as I was going over the automaton rules (6e2 182) and the END requirements for basic and optional maneuvers that do not use STR (e.g., dodge, block, 6e2 . I discovered something strange and wanted to confirm my understanding. Automatons, it is said, often sell back their END and buy reduced END for their powers and END-requiring characteristics. However, it is also said (6e2 131) that non-STR basic and optional maneuvers cost 1 point of END. Are automatons therefore incapable of executing these maneuvers, or are these kind of "grandfathered in" on the basis of reduced END in all the other characteristics (e.g., running, leaping, swimming, etc.)?

Thanks again!

Re: Automatons, END, and Maneuvers

Let’s apply some common gaming sense here and not worry about it. Technically speaking they should buy all that stuff down to 0 END if they have no END, but that would clutter the character sheet to no good purpose. Just ignore the technical implications and move along. ;)
