Battlefield Agility and defensive strike

Can Battlefield agility be used along with a matial maneuver like defensive strike?

 

I was thinking not and ruled that they where both combat maneuvers and could not be used together, i also promised i would ask here to confirm the ruling.

Battlefield Agility (HSMA 119) is simply a bonus to DCV that requires the character to make a Half Move. It's not a Combat or Martial Maneuver. So if the character uses a Half Phase Action to make a Half Move before performing a Defensive Strike (or any other Combat/Martial Maneuver), he's absolutely entitled to get the DCV bonus (assuming, of course, he succeeds with the Skill Roll and pays the END cost).

 

But of course, if you as GM would prefer to regard it as a Combat Maneuver so that it cannot be used with other Combat/Martial Maneuvers, you're 100% within your rights to do so. As GM the final rules of the game are up to you.
