Powers w/ Trigger Advantage and Knocked Out

Duane From RI

Question

Activating a Trigger can be bought as an Action that takes no time. A character who is Knocked Out cannot take any Actions except recovery.

Does this preclude a character from building a power that goes off even if he is unconcious?

Let me use an example - A character called Paint It Green has a power that gives off an Awful Smell (Flash versus Smell and Taste - we are talking so awful you can taste it) every time someone touches either of his index fingers. The player wants this to happen even if he is Knocked Out.

Is this construct possible?

Re: Powers w/ Trigger Advantage and Knocked Out

Nothing in the rules prevents a character from defining "when I get Knocked Out" or "when so-and-so happens, regardless of whether I'm conscious" as Trigger conditions. Whether the GM will permit such a thing is fish of a different color, of course. ;) I've certainly seen some abusive Triggered by KO powers, and I suspect I'm not the only one.
