TheNaga
What should I look for ideas on what fearies can do? What besides leaping ability , vulnerability to cold forged iron, cold to the touch, and blue flame (breath weapon) should my pc faery version of Spring Heel Jack have as powers, abilities, and weaknesses? What do you think hisleaping characteristic and and power? Shadowsoul
Re: Spring Heel Jack Some kind of invisibility maybe, good for leaping out at people. Armour against Energy Attacks. If you breathe fire then hopefully fire doesn't bother you too much. Faeries traditionally have tons of different powers but some of the most popular are - mind control, shapeshifting, curses (drains), transforms and the ability to move between worlds. He might have Clairsentience of some kind as well so he knows who to target. Claws wouldn't go amiss either. Disadvantages for Jack could include madness of some kind or 'alien psychology' since he is a Faerie; it's not that there is something wrong with his mind, he just doesn't think the way a human would. Lord Liaden
Re: Spring Heel Jack The HERO System Bestiary 6E has a whole chapter detailing dozens of faeries from across the British Isles, and is a generally excellent resource for all genres of gaming. While I don't want to step on Hero Games's IP toes, I will just mention that according to the Bestiary, typical faerie abilities in folklore include illusions, shapechanging, invisibility, Total Life Support, and some Teleportation for "vanishing." They're Susceptible to iron and salt, and some of their Physical Defenses don't work vs. iron. Not all faeries have all these powers, while some may have additional ones. Major Tom 2009
Re: Spring Heel Jack If all else fails, you could see if one of your gaming friends has a copy of the Omlevex sourcebook for Champions, Mutants and Masterminds, and Silver Age Sentinels. One of the hero characters (Lacie Delmont) has Spring-Heeled Jack as part of her "rogues' gallery", and the writeup has pretty much every- thing that you wanted to put in the character (and then some). CrosshairCollie
Re: Spring Heel Jack What would be the best to give him the ability to Teleport to the Unseelie Court and back to Eaerth? I'm not sure what an 'Unseelie Court' is, but from what I can gather, that's probably Extradimensional Movement.
TheNaga
Re: Spring Heel Jack This is what Wiki says about the Unseelie Court: The Unseelie (Unholy or Unblessed) Court consists of the malicious and evilly-inclined fairies. Unlike the Seelie Court, no offense is necessary to bring down their assaults.[4] As a group (or "host"), they appear at night and assault travelers, often carrying them through the air, beating them, and forcing them to commit such acts as shooting elfshot at cattle.[5][6] Like the fairies of the Seelie Court are not always benevolent, neither are the fairies of the Unseelie Court always evil. However, when forced to choose, they will always prefer to harm—rather than to help—humans. Some of the most common characters in the Unseelie Court are Bogies, Bogles, Boggars, Abbylubbers and Buttery spirits.[7] Encyclopedia Mythica has this about the Unseelie Court: The evil counterpart of the Seelie Court is always unfavorable towards mankind. The part which flies through the sky at night is called the 'Horde'. Mortals unfortunate enough to cross the Horde's path are taken along for a hell-ride. These poor victims are beaten and pinched and forced to participate in the bizarre nocturnal activities of these creatures. The Unseelie Court ("Unholy Court") solely consists of those of the fairy-like beings which are the most ugly and evil.

CrosshairCollie
Re: Spring Heel Jack Which Immunities are redundant? Well, for example, if you're immune to Zootoxins and Phytotoxins, that would include 'very common plant/animal toxins', 'common plant/animal toxins', and 'rare plant/animal toxins'. If it's somewhere on Earth, you use Teleport. If it's in another dimension, you use Extra-Dimensional Movement.

TheNaga
Re: Spring Heel Jack How about the following? 40 Life Support (Eating: Character does not eat; Immunity All terrestrial poisons; Immunity All terrestrial diseases; Longevity: Immortal; Safe in High Pressure; Safe in High Radiation; Safe in Intense Cold; Safe in Intense Heat; Safe in Low Pressure/Vacuum; Self-Contained Breathing; Sleeping: Character does not sleep) Besides searching Google Images where can I find goo pictures of Spring Heeled Jack? How would I make him stoped by salt? What would be the best why to do 'alien psychology' as a complication? What should his Characteristics be? What if he is immune to fire via Desolidification? Should he have claws as an attack? What do think of his description? He appears as an athletically built male humanoid who is four feet tall. His black hair is tied in a ponytail that reach just a little pass his waist. He ears are pointed. The eyes resembled red balls of fire. His black goatee is pointed. The body is cold as ice. Folded
Re: Spring Heel Jack Andrew Lang has a collection of twelve volumes of collected Fairy stories. It's available in Kindle format (all 12, one file) on Amazon for $1.99. It's an excellent reference for stories about the Fey as told in the British Isles. If you don't have a Kindle, you can download their Reader for the PC software for free and read it on that.
