If there is an enormous, powerful dragon, an emperor among dragons, and some hero or band of heroes thinks they can just go up to it and disembowel it like any other beast - someone should warn them that they're just trying to open a Khan of Wyrms.

Wyrms was the first book I ever read by Orson Scott Card. It's a good thing I forgot about it by the time my friend introduced me to Ender's Game. I found Wyrms to be so creepy that I probably wouldn't have read and enjoyed the dozen or so other novels of his if had remembered that they were by the same author as Wyrms.

That would be so awesome--they disembowel the dragon only to find that it's a pregnant female and they've just released all her live, angry, hungry young...
