Greywind
Going through Demon: Servants of Darkness looking for plot ideas and plugging in the characters into HD for something to do. Why is every Knowledge Skill Luther Black has based on INT except for the KS: Greater Mysteries of DEMON? The man doesn't know his own organization? Lord Liaden
Re: The Edomite Well, the Edomite's KS of the Greater Mysteries is 20-, so it's hardly that he doesn't know his organization. However, you may notice that no other member of DEMON written up in the book has that particular KS higher than 20-, even members of the Inner Circle and the Inverted Trinity, whether it's based on INT or not. Allen Thomas may have wanted that to be the maximum for anyone in DEMON. If the Edomite used the same point total for it but based it on INT, it would have been 22-. Greywind
Re: The Edomite Yeah, I noticed that, but even with a minor point savings of 2 it seemed that it was a disconnect being the only skill that wasn't based on INT. CrosshairCollie
Re: The Edomite Hmm. Considering the nature of DEMON, somehow it make sense to me that you don't use INT for things Man Was Not Meant To Know.

Some folks just buy what they think is appropriate, and let it cost what it costs.

Matt the Bruins
Re: The Edomite On a tangent, can anyone tell me which book(s) contained info on the 4th Edition version of DEMON? I was, shall we say, less than thrilled by the material in DEMON Servants of Darkness and would like to take a look at previous treatments to see if they'd be more compatible with my sensibilities. Greywind
Re: The Edomite Not off the top of my head, Matt. I don't have anything earlier than 5th on DEMON. name_tamer
Re: The Edomite Or Classic Organizations, for 4th edition. Primus and Demon was, IIRC, for 3rd edition (or earlier).
Lord Liaden
Re: The Edomite The most extensive development of DEMON pre-5E would be in Classic Organizations. There's quite enough material there -- organization, agents, supervillains -- to make DEMON a major part of a campaign. It's also signficantly more "four-color" than Servants Of Darkness, if you prefer that style. The old Organization Book, PRIMUS and DEMON, contained a sketchier version of the group for pre-4E, with some structural and mechanical differences from what's in CO. Those elements were further elaborated in an adventure for 3E Champs, Target Hero, providing new agents, demonic beings, and a more experienced Morbane, Hieronomous. The 4E adventure Demons Rule also added a major leader in the DEMON hierarchy, Lord Thorn.
