death tribble
The new team will be based on the Seven Pillars of Islam A team has been set up of Islamic followers who defend those of the faith they are known as The Seven Pillars https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_pillars_of_Ismailism As a brief note the pillars are guardianship, purity, prayer, charity, fasting, pilgrimage and struggle (otherwise known as Jihad) All will be members of the faith
BoloOfEarth
Pilgrim is a devout Muslim and is also a teleporter, with the odd ability that he can teleport from anywhere to Mecca, or from Mecca to anywhere. In other words, if he wanted to teleport across the room, he'd need to make a stop at Mecca along the way. (Also a Hero gamer, he likes to say that he has Mecca-scale teleportation. The other Pillars don't quite get this joke.) Since he can take up to seven others along, he's the team's transportation. He can also teleport others against their will -- though again, only to Mecca, or from Mecca to anywhere else.
csyphrett
The struggle is both within and without. Every man has to struggle with his devoutness, carrying out his duties, doing good. This is the greater most important struggle. The lesser struggle is dealing with others and things trying to affect the inner struggle in a terrible way. Conflict has become known for grappling with exterior problems and turning them aside from his fellow heroes. His skill with the martial arts and ability to turn an opponent's strengths against him has worked well for the Pillars in protecting their region of operation. Non Muslims are forbidden to enter the Holy City. So what happens when he Tports a non Muslim there the first time? I predict an almost riot. It is a cool power, but ..... no! csyphrett
Abu el Khayr Hazim is at once one of the more powerful members of the Seven Pillars and the most limited. His ability is to pray for a helping hand from above. This can result in miracles if Hazim has sufficient need. If he doesn't, then he has to figure out how to handle things on his own. I'm not a Muslim, so I was unaware of that. Thanks for the info. (I was mainly going for the "Mecca-scale" joke anyway.) Okay, so Pilgrim can teleport himself and others to a safe location just outside the city. That's close enough for me.
freakboy6117
the outskirts of Mecca would actually be an ideal location for mass teleportation of disaster victims as the Saudi government already has huge warehouses containing water food and clothing for the pilgrims. csyphrett
Sakat helps the Seven Pillars by spreading his wealth around. Everything he does as a member of the group is considered Charity. He uses this to help his fellow muslims by buying things they need to bring them closer to Allah. CES
BoloOfEarth
If I'm correct, that leaves guardianship, purity, and fasting to go. I'll take the last one. Wask (but pronounced closer to "whisk") isn't like most speedsters. For one thing, he's a very slow talker, seeming to weigh each and every word before he says it. For another, he's incredibly laid back and seems to get irritated when others are hyperactive. And finally, he doesn't eat 10,000 calories meals like many speedsters tend to do. In fact, he's the exact opposite -- the longer he goes without food, the faster he becomes! This last is only partly true. He actually gets faster when he and the people around him have been fasting. Hazim believes Wask has a mystical connection to members of his faith and is empowered by their faithfulness, as demonstrated by their fasting. Wask just says, "It's the power of grumbling stomachs." csyphrett
His name is Nelson. He converted to the faith in honor of his wife. His power from that conversion is a flaming sword that destroys anything its path, and shield that blocks any harm. His task to guard the region from things men were not meant to know. BoloOfEarth
I guess that leaves purity. Taharah is the only woman on the team. While some misogynistic fundamentalist members of the faith may not be overly keen on her presence in the Seven Pillars, the fact that Taharah can heal practically any injury or affliction with a touch makes her powers hugely desirable. - - - - - - [I see that we did a villain team about 6 years ago with the theme being RPGs, but I don't see a corresponding hero team based on that theme. Let's correct that oversight.] The Gamers are six very active players of various role playing games, who got powers related to each of their favorite RPGs when their GM used an actual magical incantation and ritual during a game in an attempt to get his players more "into" that specific game session. [Difficulty - none of the six can be based on Champions, though non-supers Hero Games products can be used. The favorite game of the group's GM was Champions, and he disappeared when the spell was cast.]

He's proud of that. There is actually footage of him doing it as it was at a convention. So he is in the Guinness Book of Records. He has all sorts of space age weaponry and a spaceship that can carry the others into action. Including Sentinel. He has also been accused of being a communist and a liberal leading him to adopt his moniker.
freakboy6117
CYBERPUNK 20/20 Mick Lakewright was an IT consultant by day, punk rock singer until a pyrotechnic accident during a show cost him his eyes. following extensive plastic surgery he was finally getting his life back in order on disability and depressed because his loss of vision made it hard to follow either of his passions when an old college buddy offered him a chance to take part in an advanced prosthetic vision program he jumped at the chance. the implantation worked perfectly the prototype neural interface linking his organic vision centers to the synthetic eyes gave him 20/20 vision once more and that would have been an end to it a modern medical marvel giving him his life back if his vision didn't keep getting better. it started small he realized he could see the infrared communication between his TV and the remote soon it wanst just his vision that was affected he could "hear" his router . after several days of thinking he was going mad he spoke to the project doctors and discovered the truth the neural interface was an adaptive Neural network and the programming had worked a little too well instead of merely adapting the feed for normal human vision it had interfaced all of the signals it could receive to his brain including the Diagnostics wi-fi channel. Mick quickly discovered the power of his new senses from thermal vision to his ability to think wifi commands and became the most sought-after IT troubleshooter in the city. which is how he ended up kidnapped to fix a computer problem with a super-villains doomsday weapon. using his abilities to escape and thwart the villain's plot brought him to the attention of a local superhero team now Mick is the go-to It consultant for the superhero world. so by day, Mick fixes superheroic IT problems by Night is the mirror-shades wearing badass battling rogue AI and techno-ninjas with his Cybernetic eyes and the custom smart pistol fired with his mind. at the weekends schedule permitting he plays gigs with his band. BoloOfEarth
(I hope a Bigfoot-type being is supernatural enough. I thought about using a drop bear, but didn't have the heart to do it.) Drew Barstow hails from Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory. An avid hiker and amateur explorer, he often ventured into the Outback to see what he could find. One day, he was trekking through a remote area when he happened upon a badly injured humanoid, about 7 feet tall and covered with fur. Barstow did what he could for the creature (a yowie, legendary cousin to the Bigfoot or Yeti), but it was obvious the end was near. As the creature breathed its last, it grabbed Barstow's arm and looked deep into the Aussie's eyes. Barstow was blinded by a flash of light... and when he could see again, the creature was gone, replaced by an amazingly old Aborigine. At first, Barstow thought he had imagined seeing the giant furry creature. However, shortly after that encounter Barstow began to have visions, memories of things he'd never seen or done. In these visions, he was the yowie. He thought he was going crazy, until one day he discovered he could actually transform into the yowie at will! Barstow found that in yowie form he could access centuries worth of memories - apparently, the yowie was a spirit form that could transfer from a dying host to a new host. He also discovered that he was incredibly strong, tough, could leap great distances, and regenerated damage at a remarkable rate. He could also see in the dark and follow trails by both scent as well as heat traces (Infrared vision with Tracking). Deciding to use his newfound abilities to help others, he took the blatantly obvious name Yowie (though his teammates often refer to him as Yow). csyphrett
There are three thousand miles of railroad tracks across Russia from St Petersburg to Kiev. These tracks are protected by a man who wanders along the tracks in an old Soviet uniform, holding a lantern. The locals pay him no mind, but any who encounter him on a dark night know that Commisar Michail Gregorov is still on the job after his untimely death. They call him the Train Ghost.
