Narf the Mouse
Building a net is simple: An entangle. However, a net that has hooks in it (For nasty-minded *PCs) is a bit more difficult. It's not Backlash, because it doesn't reflect attacks back. On the other hand, adding a conditional *KA to it is bound to be complex. I can't add Does BODY to the entangle, because the Entangle doesn't do damage. Aside from requesting a "Does Damage" advantage, are there any other options? Oruncrest
Re: Nets with hooks? The first question that should be asked is, "When do you see it applying damage?" If it applies on the phase you threw the net then it's just a linked KA. If it applies on the phase you threw and then continues the net then it's a linked KA Damage shield, 0 END of course. If it applies whenever the victim tries to get out of the net, then it's either an entangle with backlash or a 0 END KA with Trigger (whenever an entangled victim tries to get out). Roy_The_Ruthles
Re: Nets with hooks? It could also be built with a DOT advantage. It might not make much sense for the hooks to damage you on a regular basis until you get "used to them" but it is another option.

Narf the Mouse
Re: Nets with hooks? I see them doing damage when the character moves, because that's what makes sense given the SFX (Net with hooks). So maybe HKA Damage Shield, Limited Power (Character can reduce the damage by moving cautiously) -1/2? I do think a "Does Damage" advantage could be a good idea. But that works. Xavier Onassiss
Re: Nets with hooks? I'd add a linked KA with the Trigger advantage: it only does damage (I think) if the target tries to escape. Some hooked nets also have a lead which allows the net and its victim to be pulled along, in which the case the hooks also dig in when someone pulls on the lead. dmjalund
Re: Nets with hooks? perhaps it does 1DC per 5 STR used to try to escape. (woud probably not do damage, if you use another power to try to escape)
Ice9
Re: Nets with hooks? Could just be backlash, with a couple limitations (Only up to [X] DCs, Only vs Physical Escape Attempts), and an advantage (Converts DCs to physical killing damage; I would say probably +1/4).
