Basil
Cars that drive themselves are getting closer. Like this one. No, I don't know why Yahoo thinks this is financial news.

A very very brave person perhaps! I do not think it requires bravery as much as insanity. Or foolishness combined with ignorance.
Captain Obvious
Re: In Future, Car Drive YOU Why not? I mean, the technology's not ready yet, but once it can stay on the road and avoid other vehicles, pedestrians, or other obstacles as well as a human, I'd be all over it. I'd be willing to bet the car won't be as pissed as I am after the commute home, and I'll get more reading done.
Chimera 12
Re: In Future, Car Drive YOU The problem isn't going to be the car that drives itself. The problem are going to be all the people who still insist on driving manually. Because the dumbest human can make mistakes that even the smartest computer can't easily anticipate and compensate for.

I have come to the conclusion that you put the average person in a car and their brains drain out their ears, especially if they're in a BMW. As my Dad says "Cars are lethal weapons, but no-one treats them as such"

A very very brave person perhaps! Various universities/R&D groups have been working on various aspects of this technology since before I graduated high school. I graduated high school in 1988. Trust me that by the time this technology gets released for public consumption, it will be very mature.
Badger
Re: In Future, Car Drive YOU When my GPS doesn't want to drive off a cliff' date=' I may be alright with this.[/quote'] Indeed, with machines general dislike of me. Not sure I really want this. I keep seeing a car like this driving me into a tree.
