GoldenAge
Re: Great weird/cthulhu/strange/occult/fringe/conspiracy game resource Awesome! I have a character in Epic City that is a conspiracy theorist. These will really come in handy.

As a GM can I ask you delete this thread now to stop my player's seeing it as I may never have to come up with my own ideas ever again. Susano
Re: Great weird/cthulhu/strange/occult/fringe/conspiracy game resource Allow me to add this: There are unsolved crimes, and then there are the kind of creepy, "What the hell could possibly be going on here" capers that keep the cops, and anyone who hears about them, up at night. Here are the real cases that almost fall into X-Files territory: Okay, this being Cracked, the language is probably NSFW and the facts might be suspect, but... taken as is, these cases are full of awesome ideas for your game. http://www.cracked.com/article_18459_the-5-creepiest-unsolved-crimes-nobody-can-explain.html

Old Man
Re: Great weird/cthulhu/strange/occult/fringe/conspiracy game resource Crime really did not pay for that guy. Probably the most creepy of the other ones is the mystery feet. Because that one involves multiple dead people.
Lawnmower Boy
Re: Great weird/cthulhu/strange/occult/fringe/conspiracy game resource Yeah' date=' he was in on it apparently.[/quote'] I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you. (And now I can't help thinking about shock collars. Seriously, what the heck was going through his head before the explosives did?) Old Man
Re: Great weird/cthulhu/strange/occult/fringe/conspiracy game resource I think it was fear and panic, actually.
Lawnmower Boy
Re: Great weird/cthulhu/strange/occult/fringe/conspiracy game resource I think it was fear and panic' date=' actually.[/quote'] Call me a nasty and suspicious person (my mother called me that ...once), but this story has never rung true for me. Not even the corrected version, in which Brian Wells participated in the plot but didn't know until too late that the collar would be live. It just doesn't make sense. On the contrary, it has all the obsessive attention to detail of an autoerotic fantasy being enacted. Suicide-by-paraphilia stopped being incomprehensible to me the first time I heard about actual people amputating their own limbs for the fun of it. I just wonder if, at some point, he started reconsidering.....
